My favorite types of posts are at the end when everyone starts posting about their pain, contractions, mucus plugs, etc., and asking what everyone thinks. I find the whole going into labor, is this it or isn't it, thing so exciting. I'm a little sad because I know that on this board it will be discouraged, or all lumped into one long and boring thread - it was one of the most fun parts of waiting as an end of the month mom with my first BMB.
I mean it was pretty ok, but I can't believe how crazy people are about it. I did LOL when Elsa strutted about swaying her hips like a Kardashian or something.

Oh yay! A post that will possibly encourage a discussion about how our board is organized, again! It becomes a long and boring thread when what is being discussed is boring to the reader. So, if you find that stuff exciting, I would think you would find those threads exciting. Whereas, me? I find them terrifying and have zero desire to read them...so I'm cool with one long thread to avoid versus several.

Meh, I knew that my opinion was unpopular - that's why I found the appropriate place to put it You have clearly found the right board for you, as I'm sure that's how it will go. I'm just going to enjoy being able to post about being sad being sad because of it as we get into our third trimester and the time gets closer.

I'm pretty sure we'll get a ton of drive bys and all hell will break loose with board organization.
@jmar2011 maybe I just need to see it more then to let it grow on me. I'm curious if my desire to punch Olaf in the face will lesson or grow the more I see it though cause I found him really annoying. Which might be a sign that I have no heart, lol, since everyone else seems to love him.
I don't understand how adults will consciously go out in public in pajama pants. It takes slightly more work to put on regular clothes. Show yourself some respect and put on real clothes.
My unpopular opinion is more about the name board than ours, however, I'll say it anyways cause I've got nothing else. I think people should name their kid whatever the hell they want. So many times I sift through the name board and people are so bitchy about spellings and sex specific names. If I want to name my little girl something that is typically a name for a boy... I get to. Why? Cause I made her! I'll admit that there are names that I would never choose, and when I read them, I'm sure I get an interesting look on my face... but who am I to judge?! Sure, people are making up names, but eventually stuff like that catches on and just becomes normal.
That being said another unpopular choice, DH and I have decided on either Emery (typically a boy's name) or Brooklyn (Yes, I know.. it's a place name... GASP) as our top two names for our girl. But I carried her, she made me feel like garbage for 9 months, I will labor her... so I will name her what I choose! Those names can't be any crazier than what some of her classmates will be named! End of my bitchiness for the day!
I'm tired of trying to spare people's feelings when they post something about a legit medical issue for which they're trying to avoid seeking medical help. I've seen it a ton on FB and TB lately. I support Eastern, holistic and alternative medicine. But sometimes essential oils, etc just won't cut it. This was my UO a few weeks ago, too, but it is really ramping up in popularity to shirk seeking treatment. Modern and Western medicine exist for a reason.
@MrsCase1, I agree. I was under the care of a naturopathic doctor for many years, and she had four years of medical school to back up her status, but even she was willing to tell me when to go to a conventional doctor because I needed antibiotics or other more conventional medications. I'm all for natural stuff, I try to use it as much as possible, but if I'm suffering, I'm taking those pills, thanks very much!
My UO is on vaccines/meds and irrational fear people have of them. Yes I understand you may want to limit the amounts and types of chemicals you put into your body but sometimes you just need to take them. My mom does this and it drives me insane. Not because she's afraid of meds, she doesn't like going to the doctor. So while you suffer through an illness and eventually get better, other people are now sick because you thought suffering for weeks on end was better than an office visit and a Z-pack. Or while you wait for a natural remedy to take effect, your child suffers even more so. A happy medium can be found with modern medicine and natural homeopathic ways. And vaccines, there's a reason they were developed.

I'm with you on naming your kid what you want. But I don't have an issue with the BNB because people ask, KWIM? No one is going to agree with all of your choices all of the time and that's fine. But when people go and ask the BNB for opinions and then get offended, I always think "What did you expect?"

This makes me so sad. He is totally my favorite character in the movie.
I don't get the use of andplusalso. I read it as appaloosa constantly and it's on the same annoyance level of totes or amazeballs.
I absolutely hate the phrase "all the things" and it's variations. Did they come from hashtags? Ugh, so annoying
Ex. I am so hungry I could eat all the food.
I don't know if I'm describing them right because of course now I can't think if a good example, but whenever those stupid phrases pop up they make me irrationally pissed off.

I think I agree with all of this. It is your baby and you certainly get to chose the name, but I and everyone else on the planet will still have opinions on it. Most of us will use manners and keep those opinions to ourselves but if people are asking for opinions then I'm going to be 100% honest. Not mean, but honest.
A spin off of the "organization" UO, but I think the board is getting a little boring/predictable. I can pretty much guess based on the title of the thread that someone will ask a legit (even if previously asked) question, and then the first answer will be someone pointing them to a post that was asked earlier (sometimes weeks earlier, which let's be honest, who here is actually going back farther than a couple of days to check old posts), which will dissolve into the usual. I think we need some AEs up in here to spice things up.
Did soooooomebody say AE??

Yes! This annoys me so much. The worst is when it is 3 in the afternoon-you've had all day to put a pair of jeans on!

Yes! I saw a lady at the store yesterday with full makeup and her hair done nicely, yet she was wearing flannel pajama pants. Her kids were fully dressed. I was so confused!

Actually, the popularity of the phrase is, I believe, due to a meme that came out of a very funny comic. It's worth the read, even if it never helps you feel better about the phrase.

This. I don't offer unsolicited opinions on names, but if you post asking what people think of your names, they will tell you what they actually think. So it's silly to get upset when you asked and didn't get the answers you wanted. Not everyone will like every name, and that's a good thing because that's how we get diversity. I actually think that's a good test of how much you are certain of the name...if you still love it despite hearing negative comments about it, then that's the name.
Also, I guess this is also an UO on this board, but... Seinfeld is fucking amazingly funny. Yes, I've seen some episodes way too many times, but aside from that... hilarious.
@loherrim I agree. I mean, if that's what people want to spend their money on, then more power to them, but I just can't wrap my mind around it. Then again, most of my clothes come from Ross, so that obviously skews my opinion of it. I'd rather have quantity over quality for clothes though because I like variety and am constantly getting rid of stuff and adding new.
@LoHerrim - I love August! makes me think of August Rush. (Super cute movie with a super cute boy)
My UO: I don't mind name threads IF they are polls! I will click any poll I see. If I'm lurking on another board and see a poll I'll vote on it. Our board needs more polls!!
I agree that we need something to stir up something.
I think it was the mom & the job interview thread the other day that got me. So much opportunity for disagreements and arguing and flaming but instead, just another rational discussion where we are respectful of each other's opinions and feelings.
My UO is I can't stand dinner-size forks and spoons, and I eat all my meals with the salad/dessert forks and spoons. Dinner-sized cutlery is made for people with some freaking huge mouths or something... I always feel like I'm struggling to eat with them, and then I immediately feel like a child for feeling that way, haha! My mom is so ashamed of my inability to use "grown up silverware".

I always go for the salad/dessert forks, too, but will give DH the dinner-size if I'm the one setting the table.
@kaysa2 and @loherrim - I'm also in the thumbs up for August camp! I think it's a delightful name. Disclaimer - I'm totally obsessed with the 'August Rush' movie, so that definitely informs my bias.

This makes me laugh because as a kid I always wanted to use a "big" spoon and would get so upset when my mom would give me the littler spoon.

GAHHHHH! I guess mine is the UO, because everybody loves SkyAngelMommy, but I have no interest in having conversations with fake online personalities. Just like I would have no interest in going to hang out with my girlfriends while one of them is dressed up in a wig and pretending to be another person. I just don't find it fun. Maybe if i was drunk or high or something... but totally sober? I don't get it.
Also, I guess this is also an UO on this board, but... Seinfeld is fucking amazingly funny. Yes, I've seen some episodes way too many times, but aside from that... hilarious.
Fair point, I would agree. And I am bored by SkyAngelMommy as well... I guess I'm just bored and I want to see some posts that are a little controversial and get people talking more than "see previous post", and I thought of AEs since I think people are probably hesitant to stir up stuff under their own names. (FWIW I don't have any AEs nor do I plan on making one up, one account here is hard enough for me to keep up with.)
Wait - SkyAngelMommy isn't a real person? Feeling dumb here, but how do you know? We're pretty anonymous on here anyway, so what's the point of an AE?
I think that saying seen instead of saw is the worst grammatical error that one can make. I immediately discredit the person when they say it. The other day my SIL posted: I seen this and thought of you." on my Facebook feed, and it took all of my might not to delete it from my feed. She uses it incorrectly all the time. Maybe this is an FFFC, oh well, it's all I've got today.
I don't like when people call their daughter a princess. Maybe its me, but call your daughter something else that isn't a term associated with entitlement.
