The decorations were a bit lazy for how I usually roll. I was pregnant, tired and grumpy.
We did a pasta bar. Three different types of pasta, three different sauces, a bunch of add ons. I also served a side salad and garlic bread.
Pretty much just stuck with red and yellow for decorations.
I also do a book related to the theme for guests to leave a note in.
And a banana sundae bar for dessert
So cute. Im currentley trying to convince my bf to dress up as the man in the yellow hat, bf isnt going for it. Party pooper that he is. We will probably do some back yard grilling with hot dogs and hamburgers from schmidts meat market. @Katykatmeowz if your ever in new ulm you have to stop there they have good meats!
Little man is having a ninja themed first birthday. I'm still building a Pinterest board, but I know everything will be red, black, and white.
Oh, I've actually shown dh ninja themed stuff. I feel like the party would be for him if we did ninjas or ninja turtles
For dh? We always called DS our little ninja, so I'm super excited! There are tons of ideas on Pinterest for both ninjas and ninja turtles.
@MitsB707. yup! DH has always called himself a ninja because he's done kung fu since he was little. He's obsessed with the original ninja turtles and ninjas in general. My SIL got DS a nunchuck rattle and a ninja shirt during the baby shower.
when I was pregnant, everyone was saying ds was doing kung fu kicks in my belly
@catskitch That is awesome! We said the same about his ninja moves, lol. If you opt for that theme, etsy and oriental trading company have tons of ninja party accessories! I'm so excited, lol
@minnesotamomma91 Now I really want to go to New Ulm. I always love a good meat market. I usually get my burgers (well, ground bison for the burgers) from a guy out in Heidelberg and brats from Tollefson's Pork. Seriously, try their cheddar polish and spicy Italian. They're the best brats I've ever tasted.
So after reading all these posts I am liking the Very hungry caterpillar party theme. He loves his book that we got from our SS. I think it would be fun, but now I have to find a location because August in Oklahoma is usually around 105 degrees or more.
@Katykatmeowz omg i love a good sausage, ill have to try them.
Have you and your lo gotten outside to enjoy this glorious weather
We live next to a park, so we've been going for lots of walks. I thought about having his party there actually, but opted against it. Have you and Bentley been getting out much?
Re: Too early? I think not!
