annoying nanny!

Re: annoying nanny!

  • Just to be absolutely clear. The problem is not having cameras in your house. The problem is that you are recording her without her knowledge. So messed up. I don't think you can convince anyone here that doing that is anything but bat shit crazy.
  • Maybe OP is punking us...

The board was getting a little stale... Maybe so?

  • Wow you women are MEEEAN!!... I feel like peanut girl is the one to start and everybody follows like a mean girls club or something. I have many friends that have cameras in the house and don't tell their nannies. Everybody does things different, this is something you should understand and respect. I don't sit here reading all your posts and judging the way you do things. If someone asks for a suggestion I give it in a very nice way. Nowhere on this board was I ever mean and accusing and judging of people. I understand every mom has their own technique. To all those who said some nasty comments on my post- go get yourself some class!!

There are nicer ways to "suggest" things... Saying I probably force my husband to pee is definitely not a "suggestion" it's just plain mean. Try reading some of the lovely "suggestions" I got after... This is not the first time i posted something and got pooped on lol. I'm a very nice girl in person... And have many different friends. I tell them about my stories and joke with them about some of the stuff I posted it's really amusing to them actually to hear about your reactions to stuff. I actually read it to my DH he thinks it's hilarious that you all boo me like I'm the bad girl in town lol I just wish I could get a normal response on here without the pooping.

  • @thelittlepear- thank you! But my non animation LO is actually much cuter! O:-)

  • Nviener28 I provided feedback that I don't feel is mean. Do other people get sarcastic? Yes, but good lord you need to roll with things. I mean they were saying things out of jest, don't take it so hard.

I have to ask, if all your friends jumped off a bridge would you do that too? Just b/c they record people w/o their knowledge doesn't mean you should.

Back to the lotion thing, why do you have FOUR lotions out if you don't want them used? Had you left me with your child I would have taken the same action as your nanny without hesitation. I just can't wrap my head around losing your shit about lotion. SERIOUSLY?

As for saying @peanutmuse is harsh or whatever, she has never been one to mince words.  If you look at the majority of active posters on this board they are all mostly straight forward and throw in some sarcastic comments with their responses.  This board has never really done the sugar coating thing.  If you've been a participant on this board I don't know how you are surprised by the responses you got...

  • OP- you have 4 bottles of lotion out. 4, and your nanny can't use them on your LO when they are by the changing pad? That makes no sense. It would be like me telling a baby sitter, "Yes,I diapers and all, but don't use them. I don't want you over stepping."

  • Did you read what I wrote? There was a rash all over his face and she lied that she dabbed alittle on his nose... He had no dryness on his cute little nose only a BIG RED RASH Everybody here you want to tell me would be fine with that?? How would you react if you saw your LO's sweet perfect face with little pimples all over it and a red eye?!? Was I supposed to just give her all the lotions and say wow! Thank you!!!

Wait, weren't you just telling us how nice you are? Well, I am totally convinced now. Thank you for showing us how NICE you are!
@peanutmuse Right!? She told us to get some class. Look whos talking. Classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.

And FWIW @nviener28, you're not only lacking class, but saying your LO is cuter than someone elses really shows how immature and catty you are..You sound like a meangirl so please GTFOH

  • Sorry @cnctf! I didn't read her post right! I thought she was talking about the Hercules baby cartoon I have on my post. I just reread it and saw your SN there and didn't realize. I would never say my baby is cuter than yours... And sorry @peanutmuse I don't know what BCS means... Lol I don't have my peanut girl dictionary handy...

  • Again 4 bottles. How would she know one could give your LO a reaction.

    Urban dictionary is your friend.

I hardly came up with the term, though.
  • You need a hefty dose of reality. Nobody is going to care for your baby EXACTLY the way that you do. If you can't trust this nanny (who sounds awesome) look into other child care options, though I doubt you will be pleased with anything. Sheesh - lotion?! Don't leave 4 freaking bottles of it out if you don't want her to use it. You're going to have to learn to let the insignificant stuff go. It obviously won't be the only thing she does that you dislike so just loosen the reins a little.

Also, if you are so obsessed with the nap schedule just check the videos that you are making without her knowing. I think that's wrong on so many levels.

  • Sarcastic? Yes. Mean? Not really. This board will let you know when you're being an asshole and IMHO that's far more productive than a friend who blindly offers unwavering support even when what you're doing is ethically wrong. Recording your nanny WITHOUT HER KNOWLEDGE is wrong. If your friend disagree then they are wrong too. But you clearly only accept the opinions of people who agree with you and I would assume so from your post history.

For starters, I would look at my recording of the nanny to figure out which lotion she used and toss it...or just ask her.

  • This may have been said already, but it is also illegal in some states to video monitor staff in your home without telling them. I know it is in Michigan.
And as everyone else said, you are way overreacting!
  • You get normal responses when you are normal, not BSC.  Have you looked that one up yet?

You record her, yet you still have no clue.  Naps, for example.  Maybe she tries putting him down at the exact second you want her to, but did you ever think that maybe it's your child who doesn't want to nap or be put on a regular schedule?  January babies are still awfully young to be expected to do anything on a consistent basis.

Your poor nanny.  Try talking to her about these things--AND TELLING HER YOU ARE RECORDING HER--and if she wont' fix them, just fire her and get it over with.  Maybe your next nanny won't put lotion on him or do anything you don't want her to, even if it might be necessary.  "Hm, baby is cold.  Well, mom didn't say I could put socks on her or put a blanket on her, so I won't."  I'm pretty sure your nanny wasn't being malicious by putting lotion on your kid.  The lotion was OUT by the changing table, for the love of god.  How should she assume it wasn't okay to use it?  I'm sure she's not used to being micromanaged and having to ask about every little thing she does.  Do you also make her write down when she put the baby down so she could go pee?
