I had the weirdest dream last night. I was standing in front of a mirror in a semi-dark room and I could SEE the baby in my stomach. Her eyes were glowing through my skin. So I asked my husband to come in, then my stomach was all stretchy and thin like Saran wrap. We just kind of tugged it out and inspected her. I told him to be careful so he didn't break my water. Then I got really curious and decided to just go ahead and push her out. She came out easily and looked like him, with brown hair. I then said, "Okay, but help me put her back in; she needs more time." (The placenta wasn't delivered, so it was all okay?) But he got really pouty, didn't want to put her back, and left me. I shoved her back in (MY VAGINA), but she was just slippery and kept coming out. I gave up and got angry and told him, "You know you've put your child at risk by not helping me put her back, right?" Then he felt badly.
DH was adorable this morning. He works nights and is usually sleeping when I go to work, but today he woke up with me, took the pup out, made me coffee and toast and then went to the gas station to put gas in my (empty) tank for me. Extra bonus points because it was pouring out. He's been so great this whole pregnancy, I'm afraid I've been spoiled and will forget what it's like to do things like laundry and food shopping after the baby comes.
So, just got off the phone with my mom and she kind of broke my heart. She lives 12 hours away so she was crying and telling me how she always thought she'd be able to be with me while I was pregnant and how left out she feels. I miss my family terribly and I try to talk to them every day, but the conversation today made me feel like I'm not doing enough to involve my mom in my pregnancy. For ladies who have family far away: what do you do to keep them involved? Thanks in advance!
I am officially a D cup again and I hate it. I love that I am able to feed my children so well, but coming from a 32/24A to a 38D is an adjustment...and last time I got up to 40DD at my biggest! I'm not gaining as much weight this time around, so I hope they don't get that big again. I hate big boobs. When I'm done nursing, I'm saving up for a boob job. A nice B cup would make me super happy.

I email pics and stuff, but it's not my burden to bear. Being far apart is hard for everyone, and I don't lay guilt on her thus I expect the same.
AW: I bough a bunch of Fuzzibunz cloth diapers at a baby consignment store for only $5 a piece and they looked brand new! I also got a Serena and Lily Peackock sling for a ridiculously discounted price. I have wanted this particular sling since I had seen it online but didn't want to pay the retail price for it. All in all, it was a great shopping day!

Good point, thank you. I don't think she was trying to make me feel guilty, distance is just really hard. I'm going to try to send more pictures. I don't feel like I'm changing much day to day, but if it makes her happy and only takes a few seconds, why not?
I just scored a Thomas the Tank Engine train table set for $250, almost $600 worth of stuff!!! The table itself isn't an official train table, but it all works, it's low enough the kids can play on it, and it has storage bins underneath it. I am sooooo excited! It's an early birthday present for C, but she loves the one at Barnes and Noble, so hopefully she'll play with it often...and if she doesn't, I will, lol!

My family lives in Wisconsin and Virginia. I'm in North Dakota. The thing they (mom and brother) look forward to the most is HDBD! I've sent them the same pic that I post on here each week and they love seeing the bump/LO growing. My mom is also privy to bare belly pics, but I promise not to post them on here. If I forget to send it to them, on Wednesday, I'll get a text that says, "where's the bump?". I also text them pics of the nursery progress. Each time I put together a piece of furniture or hang something on the wall, I snap and pic and send it. That is the only way that I've really been able to keep them involved.
Thank you, I'm definitely going to start doing this. I'm awful at taking pics of myself but I'm going to recruit my SO to help me

I have the 'mybabybeat' app and using it you can record baby's heartbeat - and send it if you want. I use it all the time, love to hear baby, not just feel the movements.
The app is $4.99 on iTunes and I'm sure the family would love to hear LO.
@katburdette we FaceTime like once a week, but I'm going to try to do it more often now @JNerd thanks for the app suggestion, that sounds sooo cool! My iPhone is ancient, so hopefully it's compatible!
Our shower was this weekend so I spent a good part of yesterday and at his afternoon washing and folding baby clothes. Now I feel overwhelmed. Also, newborn clothes, especially cotton knew once washed and dried - some of them are so ridiculously tiny! These won't possibly fit my baby!

Newborn pants are the tiniest. They look like they wouldn't fit a hamster.
Newborn clothes are so tiny!! I didn't realize until I got pregnant that they fit some babies up to 8lbs. I haven't bought much new Nb size but I do have some hand-me-downs. They are to cute!!

I love this!
I send out a weekly email to all my family on Thursday, my ticker change day. It tells them what the babies are doing, how I'm feeling, includes any pics, growth scan info and upcoming appts. It started with just a handful of people and now there's 12 on the 'mailing list' and they're all pretty serious about it haha.
My poor dog has been suffering from allergies for the past 8 months. We were at the point that only steroids seemed to clear her up and give her some relief so the vet gave us a referral to a dog dermatologist. We had our first appointment a month ago and walked out feeling 90% sure it was a food allergy. The poor pup has since lost 3lbs, has an ear infection and we have to unseal her eyes every morning from all the gunk build up and the scratching is out of control. She is literally in the worst shape I have ever seen her in. So made another appointment for the dermatologist to try to figure out a different food trial since this was one was clearly not working. He has since decided it's not a food allergy and did a mini allergy test yesterday. Turns out my dog is allergic to people and cat dander!! Sorry about rambling but this just seemed just to crazy not to share!

a dog is allergic to people? do we have dander? how does this work?
He said it was starting to become more common and they are starting to see it in younger dogs starting at the age of 3 months. Mind you this is only his second case so he seemed a bit shocked as well when she reacted so quickly to it. 4.5 is the highest rating in his allergy scale and the spots showed a 4.5 reaction in a matter of minutes. The best thing for her is avoidance so no sleeping in our bed and she gets to wear a tshirt. Also we start her on allergy shots next week which hopefully will help her greatly and maybe make her immune to it in a few years time. I'm happy that we finally have some answers after spending a crap load of money, I just wish it wasn't the one we received since she is my little cuddle monster
A friend of mine just had her twin babies early yesterday morning (at 37 weeks, and BOTH babies over 8lbs!) and has started posting photos on FB. They are so. darn. cute! They live far away, but she shared a lot of her journey through pregnancy on a blog and the whole thing gave me such a huge appreciation of those of you carrying twins. Honestly, you twin mamas are so amazing to have the strength and resilience to carry TWO babies at once!

I know there is a maternity picture topic, but I am going to post here. What the hell does one wear in those pictures? I am doing two outfits. Probably jeans and some sort of top, obviously, and the other I am not sure. I thought a dress but I am not comfortable with my legs and they are WHITE so I don't want to blind anyone. Then I thought maybe colored skinny jeans? Is that still in fashion? If I could find an outfit to double as maternity picture outfit and baby shower outfit that would be awesome.

I hope so. That's what I'm wearing today!
I say wear whatever you want! There are no rules. I think lots of people tend to pick their outfit(s) based on bump accentuation. But, I think you should pick something you feel comfortable and beautiful in, regardless of what's in fashion, or 'right'.

So much for the "well at least you'll have the baby before it gets too hot" thing. It's going to be 97* today. Luckily, it is supposed to go back down to the 80's by next week, but still...I'm not ready for 100+ temps quite yet...

@wareagle1220 yup its my Boston. She is basically appearance wise exactly what we described as not wanting lol. We wanted a 20 - 30lb dog who wasn't dress up material. She has never weighed more then 13lbs and now gets to rock clothing every day. Its a good thing she has an amazing personality that I wouldn't change for anything.
@laurelyn2012 Wow, I am so sorry that you are dealing with that. I have never heard of a dog being allergic to people, but I'm glad there are some options. I understand how difficult that would be to not snuggle with your doggy
I took DD to her very first dentist appointment today. Poor girl has inherited my horrible teeth gene. She's only 2 and already has 2 cavities on her 2 top front teeth. Because of her age she's going to have to be put under when they do the fillings. I think I might cry. Well actually I did cry. DD has my teeth, which means she has very soft enamel, so even though we brush twice a day, no bottles or anything in the bed with her at night, limit her sweets intake, etc, she's still extremely prone to cavities.

That sucks, I'm sorry! Take peace in knowing you are doing everything that you can to prevent them! My niece had to be put under at the age of 4 to get all four front teeth pulled, six cavities filled, and caps put on her back teeth because they were so bad...because at the age of four, my ex-SIL was still co-sleeping and letting her BF in the middle of the night, so she was constantly falling asleep with milk on her teeth! Poor little bug. Fingers crossed your LO does well with the fillings!

@Rosebud2587 I'm sorry about your daughter! I always had a ton of dental problems even though I brushed and flossed the same as my siblings! I hope she does well.
@Lilygrace48 nighttime nursing doesn't cause cavities or tooth decay. Falling asleep at the breast is not the same as falling asleep with a bottle.
Re: 4/07 AW/SS/Random Thread
How do you know if the baby has hiccups? I kind of feel like he had them earlier but I'm not sure.
It's weird, right?
