I was at the OB trying to explain that I sometimes have constipation followed by almost diarrhea. I absolutely could not remember the word constipation or ANY word at all for poop. I kept vaguely saying "I can pee, but I can't go to the bathroom." The nurse eventually suggested "poop" and I yelled out "Yes! That's it!" marveling at her genius!
I have showered and then not remembered if I washed my hair or myself at all and had to do it all over again.
Today I ran the dishwasher and forgot to load ds' bottles or sippy cups. But I did put in the rack box thing for the nipples. At least that is nice and clean now?
I cannot stay focused on anything and it's annoying as f**k!! I've always been really good at writing letters (l'm a law clerk) and now I can't string two sentences together....frustrating!

I forgot to call preschools for my son, it's done now. I forget to pay bills (oops!) and I forget.....what's it called again?? Ah, sex. I forget to have sex with my poor DH every once in a while.
Brought a candy bar to the kitchen and put it in top of the fridge.... A few days later I was looking for it and couldn't find it and accused my hubby of eating it and lying and had a huge meltdown over it.. Needless to say he found it a few days later and got his moment to gloat...
My pregnancy brain lasts the whole pregnancy not just third trimester. With my first I would regularly lock myself out of my apt by just doing the bottom lock and pulling the door shut then get to my car and realize I had no keys. I got very good at breaking in with a credit card.
Now I'm just sitting here staring at my phone because I cannot for the life of me remember the thing that I forget this pregnancy...
I've forgotten to pay multiple bills, I shrunk DH's pants in the dryer, and this morning I was eating a bowl of cereal and dumped the milk all over my lap and floor. Good thing DH was still here and was willing to clean it up, also it's good I hadn't showered yet and was still in my bathrobe.
Lately when I get home and pull into my driveway, I consistently forget to put the car in park before I turn it off. Luckily we have a very flat driveway and the car ever so slowly begins to drift backward. I always notice it and put it in park, but why is this happening every time?
I haven't been super forgetful, but I somewhat feel like I have someone else's brain that is a lazier, unmotivated, much much foggier brain than mine. I really hope I get my brain back after this, but can keep this new laid back attitude it's given me
I wore a sock on my waist to work this morning. I'm wearing one of those shirts with a matching cloth belt. Pulled it out of our ginormous pile of unfolded clean laundry and put it on. The belt was still in place, so I just adjusted it and went. Turned out, a black sock had gotten tangled in the belt. So, I wore a sock to a doctor's appointment this morning and didn't notice it until halfway through the morning at work. I'm fairly certain no one else noticed either - black belt, black sock - but still... kind of embarrassing. Apparently, my brain is absent enough that I can't even dress myself appropriately anymore.

I had to show DH this thread. He saw the episode of modern family where Gloria has the pregnancy brain a few weeks ago, and loves teasing me about it. I'm a constant space shot.
It's the worst at work - I get really, really anxious when coworkers/my boss start talking to me about things and I get overwhelmed or feel like I just can't even follow along. That's been fun.
I'm fairly convinced my DH has a touch of pregnancy brain. Is that possible? Last night, about a half hour after we got home, someone knocked on the door. It was a random stranger who told us that our driver's side car door had been wide open, and he closed it for us - just wanted to let us know. So, DH left the car, and just didn't bother closing the door, apparently.
Then, today, he sent me some pictures I had taken on his work camera, except that, when I went to open them, they were lovely pictures of bits of structures he inspects for work - not the pictures of the crib painting in progress as I had expected.
Can men get baby brain too?

When I'm pregnant, I forget how to drive a manual. Literally. The number of times I'd pull up to a stop light and then stall out because I forgot to put it back into first and was trying to go straight from fourth...sad. I had already decided I wanted an automatic when I got a new car, so when my car got smushed in January, that's what I got. Now my biggest problem is putting it into park instead of reverse. Luckily I haven't driven into any buildings yet, but I feel like it's only a matter of time!
@sempre_staccato I have noticed a number of pregnancy symptoms in DH, absent mindedness, food cravings, and weight gain.
@Lilygrace48 driving is hard! We don't have a garage so we just park side by side (nose in) at the front of our property. Early in the pregnancy I strated feeling like my depth perseption and reflexes just weren't normal, so I told DH he might want to give me extra space so I don't hit his car when I leave first.
I can only remember this one incident because obviously, but the other day I was talking about a guy on tv's sideburns, but called them hash browns... How does that happen?!
Paying bills! The money is in the account. My wallet is right in front of me. The electric bill is still 3 days late. I totally forgot about my car payment.
I remembered my story! I went to chilis for our semi regular ladies (I just changed that back and forth form ladies to lady's like five times and I still haven't decided which is right, prego brain) night with my two year old daughter and accidentally ordered a hamburger for myself when I wanted nachos. I didn't realize it till halfway through the hamburger when I was all wtf? Why did I order this? I don't even LIKE hamburgers right now! I want nachos! WTF?!?! I sucked it up and ate the burger but I still cannot figure out why I ordered it when I wanted nachos.
I haven't really been forgetting things, but I can't multitask like I usually can, and I need to a lot at work. I work in audit, so I always have numerous projects going on at once. Can your doctor write you out early on disability for "pregnancy brain"?!? haha

hahah these are SOOO funny!! im totally a mess! i forgot my keys the other day when i left my house and locked myself out! then i went to bring my little Coco to the groomers for her puppy pampering and i FORGOT COCO! how do you go to the groomers with no dog?!?!? hahahh i felt like such a fool!
I made breakfast for my dad the other day (egg, sausage & toast), and he asked me for another piece of toast. I asked him if he wanted me to throw in another egg and sausage, and he said "Sausage, but no egg.". As the sausage was cooking I asked if he was sure he didn't want an egg, since they were right there and the pan was still hot. He said sure, I'll take an egg. I hand him the plate when I'm done and he says "What is this?". I'm like...um...the food you just asked me to make? He's all "I never asked you for food? I'm not even hungry. I gave half of my last sausage to the dog."
I lined up everything I needed to make dinner tonight and forgot to take the meat out of the freezer (AGAIN)! I have done this at least 3 times in the past couple of weeks. So it looks like take-out or drive-thru for dinner because my bump brain just can't multi-task anymore. (I also think it's amplified by being off my Adderall since October too.)
This is my favorite thread. I want it to be weekly. We've all lost our minds.
Last night I got into a taxi and gave him the wrong cross streets to my home 3 times. I finally blurted out, "Just make a right here and give me a minute!" before taking a deep breath and getting it right. I swear I know where I live.
As I went to get in the car the other day for work my automatic door opener wasn't working. I started to get a little worried (as I was, of course, already running a little late), ran inside and grabbed my spare set thinking the battery was out. That one didn't work either. The actual key to unlock the door wasn't working either. I really started to panic, ran inside and yelled for my husband (who was about to get in the shower- sorry bubs). He came out to check what was going on and laughed- I had been using his car keys the entire time. They do not look even remotely alike. ~facepalm~
So due to a MAJOR case of pregnancy brain, I forgot my TB password. And the password to the email account it was linked to. And i can't get that password back. So, I made a new account on TB. My previous username was BethMaze. I feel really stupid lol
I have had it bad. I couldn't remember how to turn my car on and I thought it was broken. I was pressing the gas instead of the brake to start. I also left the house unlocked and the alarm off. I knew it was bad when my husband had to remind me of things. His memory is horrible!
I turned the dryer on with my cat in it, that was probably the worst I've done. I consistently forget words or what I was saying in the middle of sentences. And there have been a few times where my sister or DH will go "I know, you've told me already".
I threw out a $6500 check at work last week... The only up side is that I am so lazy I never took my trash out so I dug it out yesterday and took it to the bank. I'm getting dangerously close to firing myself. Come on baby!
These are awesome, they make me feel so much better! I too have had to create millions of lists.. I should have bought stock in sticky notes when I first found out I was pregnant!
I also run in to everything.. I have a huge nasty purple knot on my leg from running into the arm of a movie theater chair. I also fell out of a swing when my husband and I were working with the kindergardeners (how do you spell that???). The kids were very sweet in making sure i was ok.
Almost every day i put on deoderant and then can't remember if i actually put it on or just thought about it so I put it on again.. and maybe a third time just to be sure.
I mentioned this in another thread, I tried to get my parking ticket validated and couldn't understand why the attendant was having a hard time...apparently I'd handed her my hairdresser's business card.
I forgot how to unroll my car window. I've owned the car for 4 years. I was at the drive thru, put in my order just fine, rolled the window back up, got to the window to pay and just sat there staring at my door. I then proceeded to lock my car doors repeatedly, and stare. The woman waiting to take my money looked so confused. I seriously considered just opening up my door to hand her my car. Eventually I figured it out and then had to admit to the woman that I had forgotten how to unroll my window momentarily, she laughed..... a lot.
I've lost a brand new bottle of shampoo. I know it made it in the house and wasn't accidentally left at the grocery store because it leaked and had to be cleaned before putting it away. Where it went after leaving the kitchen, I have no idea. I finally gave up looking and bought a new bottle.
