Frederick Memorial Hospital?

Hi. I'm new to the area and would love to hear anyone's experiences with delivering at Frederick Memorial Hospital. My OB delivers at both, but my pediatrician is only affiliated with FMH. I'm expecting baby number 2, my first was born in MA. Thanks in advance!

Re: Frederick Memorial Hospital?

  • i delivered both my children at FMH and just found out I am expecting #3 in October. Overall pretty good experience. Both my births were a little different - both were inductions, but #2 I was induced 4 weeks early due to pre-e. Prior to delivery I was admitted for 2 nights to be monitored, i will say my care those 2 nights was NOT good. They were at capacity on the delivery side, so they put me on the postpartum side and I was forgotten about the first night. I was NOT happy! The 2nd night they realized they really messed up and my nurse was AWESOME!

I liked the delivery nurese much better than the post pardum. But will also say that it makes a difference on who is your nurse on postpardum, just like probably all hospitals, some nurses are just better than others.

Food has totally improved. You can now order anything you want and have it delivered whenever you want. Also DH gets i think it's one meal per day also. Pretty laid back with visitors, except they do only let 4 back at a time.

Be sure to let the hospital know if you aren't getting good care. They will come around and ask about your experience.

    Good luck to you!
Look out baby #3 is on his/her way!

  • I'm having #4 at FMH and so far I've heard good things about it. I definitely think the nurses can make or break your experience. I've had both and my experience was definitely better when I had a personable nurse.
