Fitness check-in

@slmlle4 usually does this, but I didn't see it yesterday... and I need it this week! :)

1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)?

2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)?

3) How did you do last week?

4) What are this week's goals?

5) What are your long-term goals?

6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday... A lot of people remember a time when they were fit and trim and felt good about their bodies. Do you have a picture or a memory of a time when you felt really good about yourself (even if it was last week!)? Tell us about it and post a pic if you'd like, for motivation!

  • @slmlle4 usually does this, but I didn't see it yesterday... and I need it this week! :)

    1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)? Nothing specific. Gym classes

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)? Eat all the foods diet. Well, no tomatoes because of my RA.

    3) How did you do last week? Good. Worked out six times. Been hitting my daily step goal consistently.

    4) What are this week's goals? Work out six times. 10k steps every day.

    5) What are your long-term goals? Run!!

    6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday... A lot of people remember a time when they were fit and trim and felt good about their bodies. Do you have a picture or a memory of a time when you felt really good about yourself (even if it was last week!)? When i was training for my first half marathon.

    Sigh

Tell us about it and post a pic if you'd like, for motivation!

  • 1) Just rehab exercises. But I'm ready to start some sort of short-term plan and I'm looking for ideas and suggestions! (But I don't run, so...)

    2) I'm not on any specific diet, but I eat well most of the time. Lots of fruits, veggies and lean protein.

    3) Last week was pretty stressful at the studio, so I didn't do much for myself. Which is why I need to set some goals for this week!

    4) I have breaks on Wed & Thurs at the studio. I'd like to spend 30 minutes tap dancing each of those days. I'd also like to take a 2 mile walk at least once between now and Sunday, plus do a yoga class on Sunday morning. I did not achieve my weight loss goal for March, so I want to get there by Sunday.

    5) Long term goals... I'd really like to lose 22 lbs total by mid summer, like the end of July. I'm setting shorter goals. Lose 7 lbs by the end of April. Lose 5 more lbs by Memorial Day.

I'd also really like to improve my endurance considerably. I hate how winded I feel all of the time.

    6) I felt really good from about 2003-2006. I'd like to go back to that time, when I was dancing for myself a lot (not just in relation to teaching). I was strong and fit, and felt really good about myself. I don't have many pics on this laptop, but here's one:

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)? No, I can't follow diets.  I lack willpower

    Me too, @marbee1214. Me too.

  • @rgoblue, look at you -- hot stuff!
  • 1. No specific plan, just Crossfit and running.

    2. Same with diet, nothing specific, just trying to keep my belly full of good things because as soon as I'm hungry I crave sweets like crazy.

    3. Last week I got cleared to exercise, woo hoo! So I went to the gym for the first time PP. I took it easy. It felt great to be back among friends and working out together.

    4. This week's goal is to go to the gym 3x.

    5. Long term goal... Is to figure out how to prioritize my fitness with a LO, balancing his needs with mine. That's as far as I can get right now.

    6. TBT... Here's a pic of me and a couple pals (I'm on the right) doing some pull-ups last year before I got pregnant. Chest to bar pull-ups was part of our workout that day, so we were demonstrating our sheer joy for this movement (...not).

  • 1) I am doing 5x5 lifting plan for squat, deadlift, and bench.

    2) just a general eat less crap eat more good stuff!

    3) pretty great! 3 days of lifting, yoga one day, plank almost everyday and 3 3+ mile walks!

    4) What are this week's goals? Same just add plank everyday

    5) What are your long-term goals? Be back to prepregnancy weight by a wedding in June ( yeah I am seriously working out at least 5 days a week, eating right and breastfeeding and still have not lost the pregnancy weight) I also want to compete in a lifting meet in October.

    6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday.. I felt my best in high school when I was swimming 5 days a week for 2-3 hours each day. I was solid muscle and a size 6. I also felt really good about a year and a half ago when I was lifting and was really strict with my diet

  • 1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)?
I need major motivation to work out. Right now all I do are walks with LO, and they are probably only 1mile max.

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)?
I don't follow diets, but I do make an effort to eat healthy (whole grains, lean meats, veggies). Since BF I have had a sweet tooth that I would like to curb, though.

    3) How did you do last week?
Last week we were at ILs, so I wasn't quite as healthy because of MILs delicious baking. :) on the flip side, DH and I were able to take some nice long walks since we had babysitters.

    4) What are this week's goals?
Either a long walk or baby yoga every day.

    5) What are your long-term goals?
I'm back to prepregnancy weight, but that is still about 10lbs more than I should be. I would like to lose the weight before July. I would like to tone and strengthen my arms and regain my prepregnancy flexibility.

I don't have any photos on my iPad, but I felt really good about my body when DH and I first started dating. I look at pictures from then (7 years ago) and we were both about 10-15 pounds lighter! Gotta get back at it!

  • 1. I'm just running. No plan 2. I may do the advocare24 day challenge. Anyone ever done it??? 3. I ran 5 times last week which was my goal. 4. Goal this week is to run 25 miles 5. My long term goal is to run another marathon and be 25lbs lighter by the fall. 6. I got married in August of 2010 and I was in the best shape ever. I know I can get back to that.

  • Sorry to thread hijack, but does anyone have sports bra recommendations? Like GOOD sports bras for big boobs? I've never had a large chest so cheapy ones have always been great. I tried to run on Saturday and it was a bouncy, painful disaster :(

  • 1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)? T

Not right now. Generally, I wing it and cobble together my own programs. I use the various Women's Health Big Book of Exercise (also Abs, 15 minute workouts, etc) series a lot for inspiration. I have also been doing mom and baby boot camp at my gym. Have been tempted by T25 but I am reaaaaally not an at-home exerciser (need gym atmosphere for motivation, I guess) so it may be a waste of money.

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)?

I am shooting for 3 balanced meals, 2 snacks, mostly whole foods.
At this point I am just trying to cut down on stuffing my face with sugar. What is it about BF and sugar?! This happened last time too and when not nursing, I don't really have a sweet tooth at all.

    3) How did you do last week?

Last week? Great. Then the weekend came. Something about MILs place (visited overnight) leads me to eat like crap. Often the offerings aren't the healthiest but it's no reason to go AS overboard as I do. wtf self.

    4) What are this week's goals?

I'd like to get to hot yoga once. Haven't been since I got pregnant! Also hitting the gym at least 3 days this week (2 for 2 so far) and taking some walks with the kids because it's finally warmer out.

    5) What are your long-term goals?

I am 10lb from my pre pregnancy weight and my jeans don't fit. If I can resolve the latter, I don't necessarily care about the scale but knowing my body they go hand in hand. I lost the first 20 with no effort at all which have me false hope. Now I haven't lost in a month.

    6) QOTW:

Before getting pregnant this time. I was busy with Ds1, doing a lot of shorter intense workouts and not snacking much. I don't know if I will ever quite get back to that now, it was pretty thin but I loved it.

  • I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks on this post, but I've been working hard to lose this weight!

    1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)?
Just walking, and a little core work here and there.

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)?
    Weight Watchers

    3) How did you do last week?
Great! Finally saw that magic pre-pregnancy number on the scale!!

    4) What are this week's goals?
Exercise 3-4 days and continue eith eating choices.

    5) What are your long-term goals?
Id like to lose 5 more pounds by the end of May and tone up the core!

    6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday... A lot of people remember a time when they were fit and trim and felt good about their bodies. When we got married I was very fit and felt wonderful. I worked out five-six times/week though (about 1.5 hrs each time). That's not really realistic for me right now, and I'm ok with that. I'd just like my pants to fit well and feel good about how I look. I was also really tan then, come on sunshine!!

    1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)? The get up off your ass plan. If I could get someone to participate with me and do it alongside me, I could probably do it- but DH and I are terrible for each other in that sense, we both give each other too many "gimmes" when it comes to cheating on plans like those. Whoops.

     2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)? Negativo... I have thought about it many times, but when I was in the best shape of my life, I ate every kind of food, not on any certain plan- but I guess it was closer to a more vegetarian-eqsue style.

    3) How did you do last week? I tried to make better choices when going out to eat with our visitors...it's exponentially harder when you've got guests who want to see the best of Hawaii (which includes a ridiculous amount of delicious but not even nearly nutritious food)

    4) What are this week's goals? Hike two more trails, yoga at least twice, and get out for at least one AM jog with the pup.

     5) What are your long-term goals? 10 more lbs - but mostly get rid of this weirdo flabby-abby pouch I'm rocking.

I felt the best I ever felt about myself from about 2011-2013 before I got pregnant. I worked out HARD, ate healthfully without depriving myself- and my body was bangin! I was so proud of my body, and I cannot wait to feel that way again... I just need to figure out how to balance the work/baby situation because when I'm not at work I want to be with her... not at the gym. Sigh... I just have to tell myself that one extra hour to feel good about myself is worth it. (I'm on the right in the teal pokadotts btw) **edit: So sorry for my XL photo... yikes, no one needs to see me that large- forgive me! **image

    1)
Thanks @peanutmuse‌ first full week back to work and got a bit hectic.

First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)?
Just trying to get back into a routine. Want to train for a half this year.

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)? WW

    3) How did you do last week? Horrible. Was recovering from the stomach flu and didn't get a single day in.

    4) What are this week's goals? To get at least 1 run in and figure out a routine now that I'm back to work w

    5) What are your long-term goals? Run a half marathon and overall feel healthy again.

    6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday... A lot of people remember a time when they were fit and trim and felt good about their bodies. It was a few months before I got pregnant. I was in the best shape of my life and overall just felt awesome. Was up to running 3 miles a day and 6 miles on my long day. I turned into one of those people that felt horrible when I didn't run.... Ahh the good ol days.

  • 1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)?

Crossfit 4-5xs per week, trying to start running but I am slacking!

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)?
I buy Paleo foods, but I have had weird eating habits lately. I forget to eat cause these kids keep me busy, then at the end of the day I want to devour the whole kitchen. I am hoping when I go back to work next week I will be able to follow a better eating routine. I know that not eating all day, or only eating very little is not good for my weight loss plans!

    3) How did you do last week?
Pretty good, Crossfit 5 days, run/walk with the double BOB once.

    4) What are this week's goals?
Crossfit 4 or 5 times,  and we are moving this weekend so I plan to burn some calories with that!

    5) What are your long-term goals?
I just want to eat better. I cannot shed my last 10ish pounds until I completely stop breastfeeding, my body just hangs onto the fat. So, I don't plan to be as ripped as I can be until I stop Bfing. Not sure how long it'll last. It's working out great now, but I imagine my supply will dip when I go back to work next week.

    6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday... A lot of people remember a time when they were fit and trim and felt good about their bodies. No pic cause I am not computer savvy, but I felt really good in the Summer of 2012. We went to Vegas for a friends bday and I worked really hard on my body. I always look at those pictures for motivation and know that I have the rest of my life to look like that. For now, I will accept my breastfeeding body because I know it's great for my LO.

@runnergrl6675 Yes, I have done a couple Advocare 24 day challenges, and I am actually a distributor. If you're breastfeeding, be careful as there are some products you should not take. Let me know if you have any questions, I am actually running my friend through a 'nursing mom 24 Day Challenge' starting tomorrow. :)

  • 1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)? i am doing a 90 challenge. It is geared towards weight lifting so I'm excited to see how my body changes.

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)? Not a diet, but I'm trying to eat 40% carbs, 40% protein, and 20% fat.  I use myfitnesspal.com to track what I eat. The fitness app has been great at helping me eat healtier.

    3) How did you do last week? I did great with my meals, but I had to curb my workouts b/c I got plugged ducts twice last week :(.  Darn running.

    4) What are this week's goals? My goal is to double my water intake because that should help me with my clogged ducts.  I would like to get to the gym 4-6 days this week.

    5) What are your long-term goals? I want to be stronger and eat healthier.  So far by tracking my food intake it is helping me make a lifestyle change.

OOH I'd have to say my wedding.  I was in great shape at that time and I'd like to get back to where I was. I have my 5 year anniversary at the end of May and I'd love to look just as good as I did when we first got married.

  • 1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)?

I started t25 last week and I love it!! I start week 2 tomorrow!

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)?

Just trying to eat healthy, smaller portions and drink lots of water.

    3) How did you do last week?

Love the intensity and short amount of time with t25. I also love that I have only repeated 1 workout so far.

    4) What are this week's goals?

Keep following t25 and not have to follow the modifier as much.

    5) What are your long-term goals?

Get back to my prepregnancy weight and finish the next 9 weeks of t25. Then back to running and some 5ks this summer.

    6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday... A lot of people remember a time when they were fit and trim and felt good about their bodies. • 1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)?

I haven't been faithful to any program, I walk when I can and need to star amping it up with summer coming hp and a half marathon approaching in the fall. I plan on doing a mix of different challenges that I found on Pinterest for abs, squats, etc plus walking and running with LO & our dog in tow!

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)?

I'm signed up for WW so now it's time to get serious, also need to increase my water intake and decrease juices.

    3) How did you do last week?

Since I've been a slacker I need of step it up!

    4) What are this week's goals?

Focus on healthy food choices and get a few walks/runs in. Organize meals and workouts to start going hard next week, no excuses.

    5) What are your long-term goals?

Get back to my prepregnancy weight (18 lbs to go)
    Tone tummy & thighs
Regain strength overall, I miss being able to do push ups

Rock my bridesmaid dress in Sept
Be the best shape I can be in by LO's 1st birthday

I was in the best shape of my life last winter when I got married on NYE 2012
  • 1. Two daysI have been walking. Its finally warming up here and dh and I have been going to the metro park. I am not sure how far we walk but we walk for like an hour. Being on bedrest for almost 3 months made me lose some serious muscle tone. My legs have been pretty sore especially my hip flexors. I think I will walk for a few weeks before doing anything else just to build endurance.

    2. Two days ago I said I was fine with sweets. Ever since I delivered they have been like crack to me. I hope I can stick to it.

    3. We probably started walking two weeks ago. Last week we walked a
few time. This week once so far. We walked Sunday, Monday rained in the afternoon and I skipped in cause I worked Monday night. Tuesday I slept half the day and we looked at houses. We were going to walk in the evening but it started raining. Today we will walk.

    4. Same for next week I want to walk days I am able I know it won't be everyday with work but I want to walk more than not.

    5. For long term I want to work up to running.

    6. Here is a pick from the day I found out I was pregnant. I was in decent shape then. I was running and lifting.
Its from a bacholorette party I am on the far right in the hot pink. The party is the reason I took the test. My period wasn't due till the next day.
    BFP #1 (7/13/12) MC (8/14) 9 weeks. D & C 8/17.
BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
    Its a surprise! Team green!

  • 1) First of all, are you doing any specific workout plan (30 Day Shred, Couch to 5K, etc.)? I need to be. I just returned to work Monday, but will have Fridays off and plan to do some workouts then, and walk on my lunch breaks.

    2) Are you on any specific diet (WW, paleo, ...)? Starting Take Shape for Life next week, nursing mothers program.

    3) How did you do last week? Starting to make healthier choices.

    4) What are this week's goals? Drink enough water to pump enough for DD to stay EBF at daycare.

    5) What are your long-term goals? First, get back to pre-preggo weight (I'm close) but then get to my goal weight (about 30 additional pounds) and do this while maintaining supply.

    6) QOTW: Throwback Tuesday... A lot of people remember a time when they were fit and trim and felt good about their bodies. Do you have a picture or a memory of a time when you felt really good about yourself (even if it was last week)

There are a few times, but none recently. I'll have to find a photo to post here, and for motivation.
