Sudden loss of appetite while pumping ?

I'll be ravenous before pumping and fix something to eat. Then when I start pumping I lose all appetite. I don't want to over-eat but I also don't want to eat too little (which I think I sometimes do) so sometimes I make myself eat what I fixed. Sometimes I stay up hungry if I don't force it, but others I don't. Anyone else have this happen?  Guessing it's hormone related but it's driving me crazy.

Re: Sudden loss of appetite while pumping ?

  • No, hasn't happened to me but I don't pump and eat at the same time (but now that you mention it....). I'd err toward the over- eat side rather than not eat enough. You mentioned you don't eat enough sometimes- I do this, too, so when I DO have an appetite, or have time to fix stuff, I scarf lots of food! Ha

  • I get nauseas when I nurse but not usually when I pump. I attribute it to hormones.

  • I am the same way when I pump. I don't even want to think about food.

  • I only feel that way during my MOTN pump but I always thought it was because I'm tired. Hmmm. Maybe it is hormones. During the day when I pump at work I'm always starving so I snack.
