High-Risk Pregnancy

Hospital Bedrest

Good morning!

I'm hoping it's ok to post here. I wasn't really high risk until my water broke Wednedsay night at 32w3d.

I've been put on hospital bedrest bc she has "no measurable fluid." I'm still pregnant, which is great. They'd like me to get to 34 weeks before they deliver.

I'm just looking for some others that have been on bedrest at the hospital. I know I'm not here for very long, but it's much harder than I thought it would be. I'm trying very hard not to dwell on it too much, but having a very hard time this morning. I feel really dizzy most of the time and I miss my DH and little boys.

Thank you if you made it through that. :)

Re: Hospital Bedrest

  • ((HUGE HUGS)) as a preemie momma every day is a huge victory! Try to focus on that. I've had so much guilt about not being able to mother DS the way I'd like to (initially was hospitalized for a few days, home on bedrest since). Sending lots of T&P your way!

  • I just started week 2 of hospital bed rest before that I was on bed rest for 2 weeks at home. I have pre eclampsia so I'll be delivering next Saturday at 37 weeks. I've had a few rough days! It helped for me to have a routine to help the days go by. My daughter is 3 and it's so hard not being there for her! She is able to visit me everyday so that helps! Are you able to go outside? I usually take a wheelchair ride outside in the afternoons. I'm sorry we are going through this! People keep telling me only one more week...but when you are helpless and away from family that seems like a lifetime! Hang in there!

They have her on the monitor 24/7, so unless i'm getting up to pee, i'm stuck.  I do have an ultrasound tomorrow so I should get out of here for a minute.  I know a week isn't long and I know how important it is for her.  I'm trying very hard to stay focused on that.  Good luck next week!!

  • Sorry to hear you're stuck at the hospital.  One of my waters broke at 29w2d, and I was on hospital bed rest until I delivered at 33w4d.  It was so boring, but I'm sure I wouldn't have made it as long as I did if I had been at home.  I spend most of my time in the hospital reading and playing on my laptop.  I talked to my nurses as much as possible, too.

Good luck!!  Hope you make it to 34 weeks.

  • With DD I was on hospital bed rest for a month before she was delivered. It was so boring. Friends brought me books and movies and nail polish to do our nails. I have only been in the hospital this time for a few days and got out. I can't imagine how hard it must be when you have LOs at home.
    Lots of FaceTime maybe?
