Please tell me what your LO's routine is. Nap times are a bear! He naps 20/30min and then wide awake. But then he wants to nap again 45min later. Seems like I can't get anything done during the day. Is this a phase? U need some advice!
@Heaven802002 I do swaddle him, I've been trying to wean him though, I'm worried about him rolling over and suffocating. We put one arm out, we tried 2 and he kept waking up.
@chemily8 I haven't done that, but would hate to make that a habit and him get used to sleeping on me instead of his crib.
Mine won't nap in the cot, he freaks out. I put him in the stroller fully reclined. He's now 18weeks so I'm trying to get him to do a morning and afternoon nap at about the same time and keep trying the cot first but no success. We only 10mins in the morning but in the afternoon 1-2hrs. Rocking in the stroller wasn't a habit I wanted to get him into but it's the only way to get some sleep.
Mine turned 15 weeks old yesterday, and he was only taking 3 30min naps/day until this week and now we get 2 30min naps and a 2-3 hour nap at 3:30pm. He goes to bed at 9pm. He just started doing it on his own
Mine takes at least an hour nap and then will be up anywhere from an hour to two hours then back down for at least another hour. This goes on until about 5 pm when I quit trying to get him to nap because he will wake after only 15-20 minutes. He sleeps well by being nursed to sleep and the swaddle.
No good naps here. We were 15 weeks Wednesday. I hope daycare will help get her in a routine, today was the end of her first full week. Previously she only sleeps well on us. At daycare it isn't going fabulous. Only one nap has been over an hour (and it was in the swing). Today she had 4 power naps. None were over 45 mins. One was 17 minutes...17! I hope she figures out naps or goes back to her normal nighttime routine by summer when we're off...
This thread makes me feel so much better about Levi's naps!! He is also a cat napper. He caps out at 1 hour MAX!!! But it's usually closer to 30 minutes. He'll sleep longer if we're in the car or I'm holding him. Just a few minutes ago he was asleep in my arms and transitioning to the crib woke him up. I know eventually he'll start consolidating his naps, right??
@Hmvbaby14 ugh I know it's painful!! Although my LO sleeps through the night from 7:30-6 so I shouldn't complain about naps! I'm just hoping he will get on a better routine.
Just a note that most babies are all over the place with naps for the first few months. Simon's are really unpredictable right now...sometimes 20 min, sometimes 2 hours. Definitely makes it hard to plan! I don't think they start having more of a predictable routine and consolidating daytime sleep until 4-5 months. Hang in there!
My baby naps all day. An hour up, an hour down, until afternoon when he sleeps about 3 hours. I hold him for all his naps unless I need to set him down. They're still babies. It's ok to hold them or wear them for naps. DS1 takes 2 good naps in his crib and sleeps 12 hours at night. He puts himself to sleep. I held him for all his naps until 4-5 months or so, and then most naps were in his crib. I know some babies are in dc so they can't be held constantly. I'm just saying this works for me right now, and he sleeps a ton.
You can transition your baby from napping in a carrier. Mine used to only nap with me but he's now napping up to an hour in the PNP. We bedshare at night.
