We had our growth scan yesterday and Scarlett is measuring a little over 2.5 lbs and Violet is 2.75 lbs! They're both breech and it was sweet watching them on ultrasound because their little heads were nuzzled together while they were sucking their thumbs and kicking each other. At least now that Violet switched from vertex they can't kick each other in the face? lol
I'm anemic and finally have gotten on a schedule of taking my iron pills (I'm terrible about forgetting to take medicine). Also, I started a gym membership recently and have been swimming a few times a week. I am AMAZED at how much better I feel overall. This is the first Friday in a long time that I'm not dragging or dreading the day. I feel more rested and like I have more energy. I'm enjoying it while I can!
I had an echo done yesterday. Now just impatiently waiting for the results. The lady who did the echo had a look on her face that made me nervous. When I asked how things looked she said she'd let the doc talk to me about it. Then asked if I had a family history of congenital heart defects. I'm pretty sure everything will be fine but waiting is nerve racking. On the plus side my diaper bag arrived in the mail and baby boys cloths are all now washed and put away! And I'm down to 9 weeks left!
@MegK82 that is reassuring. My ob tried to see if a preliminary report had been documented when I saw her but no such luck. I'm trying not to worry but I hate the unknown.
I've been receiving nothing but good news this week. I knew I had to catch a break sometime
Colton is still doing awesome. They took him off the CPAP and is on the cannula. He's breathing on his own but just needs a little air pressure to help keep his lungs open. They also took out his IV and he is on full feedings of breast milk (14 mL every 2 hours!). He had an ultrasound on his brain to check for bleeding and they found none I also got to to KC for an hour and a half last night which is the longest I've been able to so far.
Oh and only 2.5% of the cells in my blood are cancerous
My son's physical therapist had her baby last night (a month early). Her & I were 5 weeks apart. We don't have have LO's room ready! PANIC MODE INITIATED!
Happy Friday! @supgabs that is great news!! This is totally random but it happens to my hubby and me wayyyyy more than it should! So we had date night and went to a nice Italian restaurant. I wanted to sit inside so that "we don't get forgotten about on the patio" The manager seats us in the middle of the restaurant and sees I'm 8 months pregnant. We were starving and order our food right when the waitress first came. 20 minutes go by...30...40...50 and I see all the people outside getting their food who came there way after us...60...over an hour and FINALLY the manager comes over "did we F something up!?!" "Ummm YEAH our food never came and I'm pregnant and starving and I ate TWO loaves of bread already that now I feel guilty about since I'm borderline GD" ok I didn't say ALL that but was thinking it. He apologizes and said it will be right out and said he is comping the meal, all of it! Food came, cool, saved us $70 that's nice but this is not the first time this has happened to us! I don't understand why does it keep happening on the days that I'm STARVING!? You do not do this to a pregnant woman! I was tempted to get my free desert also but didn't want to wait another hour and already had too many carbs w the bread! Sigh...anyways that's my random story lol :-)
I'm sitting here debating whether or not I want to call in. I'm not sick, just tired and nauseated. My coworkers suck and I leave at the end of the night physically and mentally drained. I don't know if I can make it through the day without ending up in jail from beating all of them.
I complain about work a lot. I actually like my company and what I do. It's just been a rough year with lots of personnel changes in my office and nobody can get their shit together.
I'm so excited for my boys to come but I am totally freaking out cuz I have NOTHING DONE. We've been going through an extreme low financially and are having to live with DHs grandmother, and I am insanely worried/stressed. Financial problems couldn't have come at a worse time. Gahhh!
But the doctor said he is impressed with how well the pregnancy is going, especially with it being twins so thats a huge blessing, and hopefully I don't over-stress myself and change that.
@katekat8721 We had our growth scan yesterday too and my boys are positioned exactly the same way! They said connor is 2lbs 9oz and Kellan is 2lbs 12 oz. I can't believe how big they are, and how close it's getting to time for them to be here
So, BIL works for one of those companies that does energy audits and then insulates your house on the cheap and stuff. It's awesome. Today we're having insulation installed in both the basement and crawlspace under the addition. Great. DH stayed home this morning to help pull out the old stuff. I stayed home because C is still sick. Fine. DH asked if he could go to work this afternoon and I said fine, but asked that he stay for an hour so I could lay down while C napped...while there was a stranger in my basement. He said fine. When I went to lay down I told him to wake me up when he wanted to leave.
I woke up 2 hours later...no DH, stranger in the basement/crawl space, all the doors to the house unlocked. I'm slightly peeved. I get that this is BIL's company and we trust him, but BIL was not the guy in my basement while my child and I slept. I asked him why he hadn't told me he was leaving and apparently it's because I "had just fallen asleep." Great, so either wake me up anyway or stay another half hour and work from home and then wake me up and leave! Or, better yet, don't agree to stay if you're not ACTUALLY going to stay. Asshat. I might be more than slightly peeved...
I just signed on from my computer for the first time in forever and found out I won one of the "five days of freebies!" I never win anything! Super excited!
Just spent the last hour and half picking up the toy room. We will be using that room as the baby room. A lot if stuff still needs to be brought down to the basement but I am getting the room done pretty much by myself because DH is more worried about getting tickets to a base ball game for his mom. It should not take that long to order tickets. I will finish the rest of the room tomorrow after my sugar test and take my daughter to dance just another busy day for me tomorrow.
After this long week, I'm so so so excited to be going to see my other husband, Rob Thomas, in concert tomorrow! A kid free day with my college roommate is exactly what I need. Now if only I could have a few drinks too
Things I used while at the hospital: my own shower stuff, because I have scent issues. Comfortable clothes. Flip flops. My phone and charger. Food because I'm gluten free and my hospital sucks in that regard. The only thing I'm adding this time is my laptop so I don't go stir crazy like last time.
They make the lists so long because you MIGHT want xyz. Honestly, you use none of it during labor (unless you're bringing a supply of stuff to help with pain management). During recovery, I spent most of my time either napping when C was sleeping, trying to figure out nursing, or watching the tiny person I had created. Plus, really, chances are most people are using a hospital close enough to home that you can send DH for anything you need but didn't bring.
@Lilygrace48 we will only be there for 24 hours after baby is born so I'm trying not to overpack. Everything you listed makes sense to me and is on my list. Did you have much down time (like to use the laptop)? Some lists had books / magazines but I didn't know if that was realistic
@Elsa1688, not in the first day. Honestly I was so tired that if she was sleeping and we didn't have visitors, I napped. The second day I was antsy and could have used a distraction. I do think a read a bit here or there, so a book might be a nice addition.
After an entire quarter of ignoring me and treating me like garbage, Blue Cross finally acknowledged allllllll the money I laid out towards my deductible MONTHS ago. Naturally they didn't call me like they promised but I have low expectations of them anyway. Now I only have $3,200 out of pocket left. Yay/Ugh.
@joules235 - why didn't you get a babysitter so the two of you could have a date night? Not trying to be snarky, but that's the kind of thing I would've wanted to enjoy and wouldn't think of bringing a toddler to. But my toddler never would've sat still through it, so there's that...

Hahaha! Same here! I just don't care and usually I'm such a clean freak! It's just too hard to bend down unless absolutely necessary lol
@joules235 - sorry that is totally crappy of them! I would have left a bad review as well!!!
