Oh well, oxytocin is good for the baby anyway right?

TB is the third thing I check in the morning in bed as soon as I wake up.
Me too. Email, FB, TB. No shame.

    ------
I've never had trouble getting my snoogle cover back on. Just bunch it up first and smooth it out like a stocking. Same way I get regular body pillow covers on.

    ---------

I've never heard this "Talk Dirty to me" song of which you speak. Pretty sure I don't want to. Deep down, I'm kind of a big ol' prude.

    ----------

DD was 8 lb 14 oz and was in NB clothes for 6 weeks. You never know about these rascally babies.

    ---------
Oh, I haven't heard this selfie song either.

I dislike zombies, including zombie movies, tv shows, zombie apocalypse preparations, and the like.

  • My confesion is that I check my registry everyday now that the invites have gone out. The only thing I know about my shower is the day, time, and where it's being held. But I've received a few of my big ticket items already and had thank you notes written as soon as the gifts arrived at my door. I am terrified I will forget to send my thank you notes and it will be my wedding all over again. My Husband and I agreed that we would write our own thank you notes after we got married and he never did his. To this day I still feel terrible that he never sent his side of the family and friends any thank you notes! X(
I will not let that happen with this shower, so I've become crazy with being on top of thank you note writing.

My FFFC : I have a fb friend that is due a week or so later than I am and has GD. She just told me in a private message that she is already drinking red raspberry leaf tea and on monday will start taking evening primrose oil.. I'm 35 weeks 3 days, she's 34 weeks. I am judging the heck out of her because I just don't get it.. Why the hell would you want your baby born that early??

I thought that RLT was just thought to be good for the cervix, not necessarily induce labor? I've heard of women drinking it early in pregnancy. Most of what I've read on evening primrose says wait until 35 weeks to start taking it orally. But I totally get your point that it's super effed up if she's trying to force baby out early.

oh yeah there isn't any proof that RLT will bring on labor- I took it with DD at 38 weeks to start prepping my cervix because I didn't want to be induced again, and my DD came on her EDD. and I've never taken evening primrose - But the conversation is what pisses me off. she starts by asking how I'm doing etc and telling me how she's doing, and then goes into how she's hoping her baby comes in the next week or so.. again she's 34 weeks. today! ugh! it's insanity.

Not only is that annoying, but I find it illogical. I think women that hope to go early seem to think it will somehow be easier than carrying to term - but I think often babies born early require so much extra Attention and TLC.

Those of you with friends trying to self induce early, feel free to send them my way. I'd be happy to scare some sense back into them with what happened when my daughter was born at 35w6.

  • I haven't stopped drinking caffeine, mostly like 1 Pepsi a day. Mostly frustrated cuz I get the side eye when I have a small mocha frappe from Mcdonalds like 1 every other week.

  • FFFC that's not much of a confession: I'm super tired of the thug pride going on at my school. In the past week I watched a 14 year old girl use a racial slur against one of our deans, a 15 year old boy threaten to physically harm a teacher, and another kid selling pills in the hallway (he got over the fence and off campus before anyone could get a hold of him). We are also three years in a row running on teachers being assaulted by students. I'm really tempted to put this meme up as the background for my projector:

I've been taking raspberry leaf capsules and primrose oil as soon as I hit the middle of my pregnancy under the supervision of my midwife..

I loathe 90% of "must-have" baby cr*p, and particularly hate having my SILs unload the unwanted junk they have lying around their homes on me. If all it does is make awful electronic noises and flash lights, I don't freaking want it.

Maybe she doesn't actually want the baby born early and is just taking them for their non-labor-related benefits. Or maybe she knows how weak both products are and knows that taking them is really NBD.

EDITED. Sorry. Finally read the rest of the thread. Obviously she's just delusional and doesn't know you can't force labor with EPO or RRL unless your body is already preparing itself. Many women drink RRL tea throughout the entire pregnancy. Heck, it's in my prenatal vitamin. And yes, EPO contains cervix-ripening prostaglandins, but so does semen, and women still have unprotected sex when they're pregnant.

I don't understand women who claim to want their babies to be born early. 38 or 39 weeks instead of 40, sure, but 37 or earlier? Ugh. My son spent 4 days in NICU (born at 40w; bilateral pneumothorax) and that was traumatic enough for me and DH. I don't even want to think about what actual preemie parents go through.

You do understand how babies are made, and where that kid of yours is going to bust out of in a few weeks, right?
This reminds me of Letterman interviewing Neil Patrick Harris.  I got the strong impression that Letterman doesn't actually know how babies are made.
