Am I being irrational?

First and foremost this is my very first post! Yay! Now for the question. O_o I am very early in pregnancy (10weeks) but I have had my names picked out for as long as I can remember! I am hell bent on naming our daughter Angeline Taylor (I know I'm having a girl, I just have a feeling

) I have one other name picked out for a girl but the "ATC" initials go with my SO "ATC" initials but he HATES the name Angeline because his step-mothers' MIDDLE NAME is Angelique

I can not deal with that fact that he is being so insensitive. Am I being the irrational one or should I should tell him to suck it up?

My only pregnancy ended at 10 1/2 weeks. My child was carried by an amazing lady who made an incredibly selfless decision and asked my husband and I to be his parents. No feelings on that one either. Still think you should consider the name Zayn.

You are carrying the child. Yes he should have an input but realize that this has been the name you want n having family names is actually nice.

@jfresh What?!?!?! You mean you let your DH have a say in naming your baby?!?!?!?! The baby that he helped create? That baby that has 50% of his DNA????? You be crazy! You carried that baby! Obviously the rule is, "You carry it, you name it!" DH once tried to name a bottle of water I was carrying and I loudly proclaimed, "NO! NO! NO! I'm carrying this water bottle and I shall name it Martha!"

DH and I were 100% convinced we were having a boy. Completely. The baby came out and DH said "It's a girl!" And now my world is various shades of pink and purple. You never know for sure unless you find out or until the baby comes out.

"Oh no oh no"?? Is this for real? What are you going to do if you have a boy? You really should prepare yourself for the possibility, its a 50/50 shot...

Yes, you are being irrational. Talk to him and think of a name TOGETHER that will be for the baby you made TOGETHER.

Ask him to consider the name you like. Tell him to look at it with an opened mind, and you'll do the same. Ask if he'll consider the name Angeline, and in the mean time, you both think of more names you like and see if you can find one you both love, or maybe even one you like more. Try to compromise. Although my boyfriend and I have not put much thought into names for our baby yet, a friend of mine just had a baby a few weeks ago, and she had had a similar disagreement with her boyfriend as to the name of their son. She had a name she really liked, but he didn't like it much. Eventually, he changed his mind, and agreed to name the baby what she wanted. Ultimately, you both need to find a name you can agree on, whether it's Angeline or not. One parent should not simply say "We are naming the baby this, end of discussion." It should be agreed upon by you both.

As PPs have stated, you're being COMPLETELY irrational. This baby is just as much your SO's as it is yours. Get over the fact that you can't name your baby what you want. He has just as much say as you do.
