Is your LO walking yet? Poll

edited April 2014 in February 2013 Moms
ETA: This poll doesn't include a SS option or an option for twins, and I am so sorry! I actually feel really bad, so please accept this apology. ILY guys, even if I forget this stuff.

Re: Is your LO walking yet? Poll

  • DS isn't walking yet. Which is probably obvious since those with walking-LO's at this age probably wouldn't care enough to put up a poll.

I was just curious how many others there were on this board :)

I voted "yep!" But in reality, LO just took a few very hesitant steps on Sunday. I could not get LO to do it for the grandparents today. So, first steps have happened, but we are no where close to walking on a regular basis.
  • I voted yep, but he only started walking just this past week! Each day that goes by the walking to crawling ratio leans more and more to walking in terms of his preferred mode of travel!

  • Yes, but DD is one of the older babies on this board (born Jan. 31) and she really only started walking well around 13 months old. Once she started taking independent steps, she pretty rapidly went from mostly crawling to mostly walking. She liked that she could carry things while walking.

  • Nope, but he can run around the house with his walker, but won't walk by himself.
  • No walking!  She cruises a bit and is great at pulling to stand, but her balance isn't quite there yet.  I'm not surprised though, she's been way ahead on verbal and cognitive skills, so being a bit slow on the gross motor skills sort of balances things out.  Right now I'm just enjoying the fact that she can't get away from me very quickly yet. ;-)

This poll is discriminatory against twins. I am ashamed.   :-S

  • Rynleigh  is the only person who can legitimately vote for that option.

We are not walking, and thank you for this poll.  I am starting to feel that LO is a bit behind on things, so it is good to see that about a fifth of you don't have walkers yet.  He will walk with a walker and climb up and down the stairs pretty well, but no independent walking.  Or talking.  Ugh.

    Same problem lol

DS started walking a week and a half ago but he's still pretty tentative and does lots of crawling.

DD is nowhere near walking. She doesn't even stand independently yet.

  • DS cruises all over the place....climbs on everthing..can walk holding my one hand..but the second i let go he drops. I know its fine and normal , hes not even 14 mos yet...but it still frustrates me! i know he can walk!
  • My girls were both early walkers, but DD1 was a laaaaaate talker, and I'm prepared for DD2 to be the same way. I stopped posting talking polls on DD1's bmb because it was so depressing. I think she was saying 25 words when she turned 2. Now the girl doesn't know how to shut her mouth, though.

Apparently mine is an overachiever too.  He started walking right at 10 months.  These days he runs and climbs.

  • Yep. We started at 10.5 months and we are now running. For all you non-walkers, enjoy it while it lasts.

  • At 10 months.  She was my earliest.

    DS1 was 11-12 months.  DS2 was 10.5 months.  DD1 was 11 months.

  • Since Christmas. DD1 was a late walker. It was nice.
