Help me pick

We have narrowed down to a 2011 Buick Enclave or a 2011 Chevy Traverse. Which one would you pick and why? Going to look at both in person tomorrow night and potentially drive one home for the final decision.

Re: Help me pick

  • Oh and the price difference is $1,000 but my sales guy said he would sell either at the lower price (so basically the same amount).

Enclave - leather is easier to clean, I think.  Also, heated seats: who doesn't need those for cold winters and cramps?

I can ask my h. He briefly sold cars & knows a ton about different makes/models.
Please do! DH is a diesel mechanic and knows some about cars but more about heavy equipment.
  • OK so the guy just called apparently there was an error in communication the enclave is actually FWD not AWD. Would this change your decision? We live in missouri we get an ample amount of snow but nothing drastic. I think i used my FWD 3-4 times as a precaution this year <-- not to actually get through anything.

    Does FWD help on gas?
  • I would probably go with the Traverse simply because I like white better.  But I do love my heated seats so it'd be tough.  Another thing that needs to be taken into consideration is how many miles are on each.  Yeah, they're the same year and price but if one has 40,000 miles accumulated on it already as opposed to 10,000 on the other, that makes a huge difference.

As for the FWD vs AWD, I live in the Canadian prairies where we get ridiculous snow Oct to April and drive a FWD vehicle.  I imagine AWD would help on the really bad days, but FWD is sufficient in my mind.

So exciting getting a new car!  I'm jealous.

They have the same mileage give or take 100. They are seriously kind of neck and neck which i why i am having problems deciding!!

Ooh, that does make it super tough!  I guess you'll just have to see which you like better once you get behind the wheel.  Maybe one handles a lot nicer than the other.
  • I am going against the grain, and will say that I would probably go with the Traverse.

Heated seats make me feel like my vagina is on fire or that I am having a hot flash.

I would prefer AWD as well.

  • I like the Enclave. My friend has one and we laughed about her driving a Buick at first but then I drove it and ended up wanting one. I've been looking at them myself but with my long commute and solidly being OAD, I'm going to go with a mid size crossover instead.

  • I would go with the Enclave - leather, heated seats would make the difference for me!

This is my answer as well!

  • The only thing about leather seats is holy crap are they hot on summer days. I didn't realize what a pita it was until I had a car with cloth seats. I don't even miss the heated seats at all.
