1st Trimester

Losing pregnancy symptoms-miscarriage?

I am 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I have seen my baby on an ultrasound at 9 weeks and heard the heartbeat last week. My dr. said that the breast tenderness  would probably go away. The nausea while not horrible anyway has started to subside. Over the last 3 days my BBs are less and less tender. I'm wondering if this is just because I'm getting close to the end of my first trimester or becasue I may be experienceing a missed miscarriage. This is my first baby and I'm almost 37 so I know I have a higher risk of miscarriage. I don't know how common a missed miscarriage is but I know they happen. Also I worry becuse I have had a couple of instance of spotting for a few days and a couple of days of bleeding which the DR. confirmed that the baby was OK. Am I just being paranoid or is it normal to start losing symptoms in the 11th week??

Re: Losing pregnancy symptoms-miscarriage?

  • Don't worry ... anxiety is bad for your developing bundle of joy ... I've heard that symptoms begin to subside by the end of the first trimester.  I'm 38, pg with my first, and, last week, there were a few days that I forgot that I was pregnant.  (Leave it to morning sickness to remind me that I am still pregnant today!)

  • I have NOT one symptom now.
  • I don't think losing symptoms is necessarily a reason to be concerned. I have lost symptoms and some symptoms I never even got. Most days I don't even "feel" pregnant. Symptoms come and go. My OB said as you get closer to 2nd Tri you will start to feel much better.?
  • I've just begun my second pregnancy (I'm 34), my first ended in a miscarriage. I was wondering if the symptoms like breat soreness would go away, too, so thank you for your post (and the reply) as it's put my mind at ease. I'm about 6 weeks along.

I'm doing everything I can to stay positive and stress-free.

  • Thanks for the replies. You are all making me feel better!! I am so paranoid!!!
  • if your dr checked you out after the bleeding and youre not bleeding anymore, you are probably fine.  they say you have to be filling a pad an hour and its continuous.  (im not an expert but that is what i have read and heard from my dr)

with my first pregnancy, i lost all my symptoms around 12 weeks.  i did has a little more queasiness but that disappeared at 14 weeks.  and then around 20 weeks i got horrible horrible heart burn that lasted the rest of my pregnancy.  i am only 6 weeks now so my symptoms are going strong and ive already started with the constant heartburn.

Hopefully you are just being paranoid and everything is fine.  you can always put a call in to your drs office and maybe they can offer more comfort....

  • Good gosh. Quit poking your boobies!!

No one here can diagnose you with a missed m/c so my suggestion is to take a load off or you are going to have a rough 7 months ahead of you.

  • I'm in the same boat. Everything is starting to feel much better, so I think it's pretty normal (I hope). My nausea has subsided considerably and I'm not as tired as I was. I have also had a few brown spotting episodes at 6w and 10w and all was fine at 6w and I'll find out if all is still fine in a week at my next appointment. I wouldn't worry about this, my doc said a lot of symptoms peak at 10w and start to subside a bit after that.

Yes  Thank you. OP: Dont make your s/o crazy with thoughs like this.

  • I am in the same boat as you are, I have had the last few days morning sickness free and it did start to worry me.  I did just have my NT scan on Monday and the baby looked great.  Are you planning on having one as well?  If not, then maybe now would be a goodtime to ask your doctor for one and it was also give you a little reassurance.  My bbs are still sore, however, I have also had some light brown spotting recently which has completely freaked me out.  I am beginning to learn that a lot of this is normal and doesn't necessarily mean a m/c.  Good luck, I am sure everything is just fine.
  • I am planning to do an NT scan but my DR doesn't schedule until into the second trimester. I wish it was sooner. It will be the middle of July at the earliest I can have that done!
  • As long as you're not having lower back pains along with a lack of pregnancy symptoms, you should be fine.  Put your feet up and relax. If you want the nitty gritty details of what my m/c was like, send me a private message.  I'd be more than happy to answer ANY questions you can think of.  I had the lack of symptoms around week 11 and was jumping for joy...until I found out why.  Don't freak yourself out about it though...Just relax.
  • Bleeding is something to be concerned about, but if your doctor has checked you and the baby since then, it sounds like you're good!  I had a missed miscarriage, and it was missed because I didn't have any symptoms like bleeding or pain, but still did have my pg symptoms of fatigue and nausea.  I don't think diminishing pg symptoms are sign for concern--especially nearing the end of the 1st tri.  All my pg friends tell me that's when you start feeling better again!  Try not to worry!!!

Wow, that was a bit harsh.

OP, my symptoms started to disappear as I reached the end of the 1st tri.  Try not to worry!

  • I suffered a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy a year ago. I had a multitude of pregnancy symptoms and had NO CLUE I m/c until my appt when I should've measured near 7 weeks and baby measured 5 weeks.

Also, I've been feeling better, for the most part, this week, too, so I'm choosing to believe it's just that we're getting closer to 2nd tri. Hang in there and try not to stress... unfortunately this is out of our hands right now.

  • I'm sorry that your having anxiety.  I know how you feel since i have it every day due to my history of MC.  My advice is if you have any concerns call the Dr and tell him your worried and see if you can come in.  It's better to go in and get some reinsurance than to worry.  I had to do the same thing on Monday since i had some cramping too they sent me for Us.   That's what the Dr's are there for.

  • Honestly I think everyone gets worried when there is a loss of symptoms.

But it is perfectly normal and common.

At 30wks, if it wasn't for the baby belly and LO kicking... I wouldn't know I'm pregnant. My breasts have gone back down to pre-preg size and seriously haven't been tender since week 10.

Take a deep breath and know that it happens to everyone!

  • They say that in the second trimester - you begin to feel like yourself again.  But if you are really worried.. call the doc.  That may be the only thing to put you at ease.

    Good luck!

  • Try and relax..but definately report the spotting just to be safe.  Your hormone levels actually start to decrease around 10 weeks, so that helps with the m/s and boob soreness.  Don't feel bad about calling your Dr.  That's what you pay them for.
