How often do family members come visit you and LO? For me, once a week is plenty. But DH's family seems to think they should be here multiple times a week. I'm just curious about what others do.
I agree with bepandnick. My parents live about 5 hours away, so unfortunately they can't visit too frequently. If they were closer, I would say once a week. My ILs live 30 minutes away, but are completely disconnected and have only been over once since DS was released from the NICU 7 weeks ago.
My mom comes once a week for now, but that has more to do with my wanting company while I'm on leave (she retired) than her feeling the need to see LO that often. She will be taking care of LO PT for us once I go back to work as well.
My ILs have really unusual work schedules on top of being primary caretakers for MH's grandmother who's in very poor health, so we only see thievery few weeks when schedules all align. I'm sure they'd like to see her more, but for now, we just try and prioritize seeing them when we can.

We see my parents about once a week, and my in laws every other week. Maybe even less often then that....we see my side much more than his. However, everyone works full time, so it's not really realistic for everyone to see each other more than once a week.
My MIL (lives 10 mins away) comes over maybe every other week, but that cycle is about to be broken because she's not coming this weekend.
My mom (lives 80 miles away) has seen LO every weekend except one. She'll see him every weekend in April.
I don't mind visitors, especially if they soothe LO when he's fussy or change a diaper or provide adult conversation. In many ways, I wish my relationship with my mil was different because I'd have her over several times a week.
We see my mom a lot...like 3-4 times a week. But I HATE sitting here alone and DD1 really misses grandma. She's my child care when I work so DD1 has gotten used to seeing her 3 or so times a week.
The inlaws? We don't see them much...they're busy and schedules don't line up
SIL feels like she should be here multiple times a week since she lives so close. MIL and FIL are averaging 2-3 times a week. Although I think that's starting to slow down. I'm pretty introverted and I like my space. So the multiple visits a week is pretty excessive to me.
I live 5 minutes from my mom so she is here 3-4 times a week. She helps keep DS1 occupied during the day.
My brother and SIL live down the street and we see them often, anywhere from 1-4times a week, it just depends on what's going on. They love babysitting and will stop by to play with DS1 or help out with DS2 to give me a break.
MIL/FIL live a little over an hour away and we try to see them at least 2-3 times a month. They are both extremely helpful and when they visit. I love having them around and they get along with my family really well too.
No one comes to visit us. We always go to visit them maybe twice a month. That is plenty for me. Multiple times a week from anyone would drive me crazy. I need my alone time.
We see both sides once a week at church, and that would be enough for me mostly. My mom is going to start coming once a week, so I can work from home. Helpful!
My MIL would come every day if I let her. Thankfully she works, and LO starts his bed time routine about 6:30. But she emails me often that she NEEDS time with LO. I try to keep her to once a week outside of seeing them at church. I would be happy with less, because when they do come over...its for HOURS and I generally feel the need to fix a meal.

We live within 5 minutes of my in laws and my mom. We see the inlaws once a week, usually on the weekend for a few hours. My mom comes over a few days per week during the week for like 30 mins to see baby and keep me company and we also see her on the weekend for Sunday dinner.
We have a lot of family time going on over here but I like it.

My MIL is also across the country. But plans on every 3 months for 1-2 weeks. She is very helpful, so she is welcome when ever she wants to fly out.
However, everyone works full time, so it's not really realistic for everyone to see each other more than once a week.
However, they see their other grandkids more than once a week pretty consistently. It works for some people, but it's too much for me.

Fil/s MIL come for 2 days every 6-8 weeks. They live 6 hrs away and are great with the kids. We would love to see them more.
MIL we see once every 8 weeks or so. She is a train wreck with so many issues... Once a year would be seeing that woman too much.
