Ive been using the Britax newborn insert and its made out of this fabric that makes her sweat like crazy along with the 80 degree weather. Anyone recommend a different kind or one you like?
Im not sure, but whatever it is give a call to your car seat man.and see other is compatible. A lot of after market products are my safety tested with the seat and do not meet the seats stands.

I wouldn't use one that didn't come with the seat it hasn't been tested (although the britax one MAY be ok with the britax seats). Just use a rolled up receiving blanket. That's what the nurse told us w/our first. Our girls had a Chicco which comes with newborn inserts.
Are you using the Britax Head and Body Support pillow? If so, it is safety tested and safe to use with Britax seats. It's also reversible, the plush side is for cooler weather and the other for warmer weather. Have you tried the other side?
Our Graco one came with a newborn insert, and I just realized the other day I don't know how long to use it. Is it obvious when they get too big for it?
Not always. Check your instruction manual.. There is probably a weight limit. Honestly, I'm looking forward to her hitting the weight limit so I can take ours OUT. I think it may be adding to our car ride scream fest.

It doesn't say, just says infants may need it for head support, and only to use it with the lower 2 harness strap slots. Do you know what the weight limit is for yours?
@clb2196 the infant insert for my KeyFit30 says the weight limit is 11 pounds. I did find that I could tell DS looked stuffed in there when he reached the limit. It sound though like you may just have a head rest? You can use that until the straps need to be in the top slot.
