Most ridiculous baby thing?

What's your one most ridiculous baby item?  The thing you're almost ashamed to admit you own.

Mine is this:

It goes underneath the crib mattress and makes it vibrate.  Because as much as I am anti extra baby crap I will do almost anything to get some sleep.

  • Lol, yes normal items in excessive amounts also counts!! I'm not sure 5 baby nail clippers actually is excessive, though. I can never find those things!

    Huh! They are so tiny.
  • 4...no, wait...5 strollers. :\">

Girl after my own heart. Strollers are always my most ridiculous baby purchases. And babies don't care about them at all, but I do because they're so damn pretty.

They all serve different purposes! You can't just have one that will do everything you need it to! Just like pairs of shoes (which I also have an excessive number of).

  • Mamaroo and Baby Shusher

  • We have a bath kneeler, but we registered for it because my DH has really bad knees.  There is no way he could bathe the baby in the bathtub without it.

  • I bought a Kate Spade diaper bag. It was expensive and I'm sure a non designer diaper bag would have been fine but I figured that I would also be using it as a purse so why not.
  • Baby carriers I guess- we have 4 but I've only spent around $40 total. I made 2 and was given 2. They are all different (ring sling, woven wrap, stretchy wrap, and structured carrier) and we do not have a stroller.

  • I have at least four baby carriers. Probably five. I don't think that's at all ridiculous, though.

  • I am pretty minimalist with gear...but there are a lot of matching rompers for DS1 and DS2 to wear this summer and I went through a ridiculous amount of effort to get one of the matching ones. Both my local store and website were sold out of a certain piece in size 0-3 that I desperately wanted to get to match big brother's, so I begged my FB friends to check their local stores...and one of them found it, bought it, and shipped it to me.

  • Strollers for sure.

    I have a single jogger
    a double jogger
    a sit n stand
and one of the chicco umbrellas.

I still find myself looking at strollers all the time
  • I agree with strollers.

We have a frame stroller that holds the car seat

    Single stroller

    Single jogger

    Fancy umbrella stroller

    Sit and Stand.

  • We have this...

...even though we have no room on our counter for it. But I just REALLY wanted a separate place to dry baby's bottles (We don't have a dishwasher).

And since we're Team Green I've purchased a couple sets of bows to put on baby's head...just in case it's a girl. Luckily my SIL just had their second daughter in mid February so in case LO is a boy, I can just send them to her.

@PoppySeedWindsor Dude, that grass thing is freaking adorable. Now I want one! I mean, it serves a purpose, can't be that ridiculous!

That grass thing is awesome!!  Holds a ton of bottles and isn't some monstrosity on the counter.   I love it!  I still use it for sippy cups or things that we have to hand wash.

I love the boon grass. Plus they have "flower" accessories to hang stuff from. Cutest thing ever!!

We have the boon grass too and LOVE it!  It is seriously the best drying rack for bottles and pump parts.  Doesn't take up a huge amount of counter space either.

Me either. That's just necessity. No shame.
    Then I guess I've got nothin'. ;)
I'm more of a realistic minimalist abd we don't have a nursery to store a bunch of stuff. Kid is sleeping in a pnp in our room. Changing table is a dresser in the adjoining walk-in closet. No real diaper bag- one my aunt made and another that's just a really great shoulder bag that I've had for years. I think we have 8 NB onesies, 15 0-3, 10 3-6, 5 6-9, and a few random other pieces.
Oh we have thousands of wipes. But I haven't purchased a single one- they were all gifts. We are cd-ing so I was going to use cloth wipes, but I guess I'll use a combo since I have them! :)

  • I use a dish towel sometimes. I like the idea of something that goes in huge washing machine because one things hate about drying racks is they end up gross at the bottom. Those grass ones are super cute, though.

  • @AprilMay9‌ we have drying mat too. The boon grass is just cute. :) I plan on throwing it in the dishwasher whenever necessary.
  • @AprilMay9 Some of us people may use drying mats and some of us people may use drying racks.

Thanks everyone for making me feel good about my ridiculous registry item.

And @megla I saw the accessory parts at Target. I want. Baaaaaaaadly.

  • Now that PP have mentioned it, I don't think my dr browns bottles will stand on my cushy dish mat. The wider avent ones may. I'm sure we will use both because we have a shitload of stuff!
  • I'm guilty of quite a few of these things.... The grass rack, the lullavibe, designer diaper bag, mamaroo, but the big one for me is the pottery barn crib and amazing PBK rosette lampshade. Completely unnecessary and so lovely. Good news is most were gifts.... I just bought the crib.

Probably the chariot stroller we have....it's not so much the stroller but the attachments we have for it! We have the jogging kit, cycling kit, skiing kit, a baby supporter and an infant sling. I also bought a basket for it and a bottle holder. I bought this for my first daughter and its a double so I am looking forward to adding baby #2 to the set up lol. Here is what we have https://chariot.thule.com/en/ca/products/sport-series/cougar/cougar-2-_-10100928 I guess we do use it every day though to bike lo to daycare or cross country ski or jog so really it's not totally crazy but a HUGE overall investment.
  • We don't have anything ridiculous, but I generally go for the most gadgety and expensive things out there. If it says 4moms anywhere on it, I'll probably buy whatever it is. There's this machine that you put water in one side and powder formula in the other and when you need a bottle you just push a button. I almost bought it until I remembered that I'm breast feeding!
do you have their stroller? i want it but cant justify it and the bath with the termometor built in ... if only i were rich
