I am exhausted (as I'm sure everyone is). LO is 5 weeks old and the last week has started a trend that is killing me. At 9pm, we feed her about 3oz and she's asleep in 20 minutes. She wakes up about midnight and again, eat 3oz and asleep in 20. Then comes 2:30am... She stays WIDE awake for 2 hours, will eat about 1oz every 20ish minutes, for a total of 5oz and then falls asleep around 4:30. During this time, she acts te same as her 2 awake periods that she has during the day; interested in things going on, wants to be held/bounced/rocked, fussy, etc. Anyone have any suggestions on how to convince her that 2:30am is not a good time to party? I thought about putting her back to bed after 20 minutes, but she would just be up again to eat more. Is it just par for the course?

Re: Wide awake during night
We have been doing this since week 1, but only have been having regular success with it since about 4-5weeks. She is now 8 weeks, and usually sleeps 9:30p-5:30 or 6a.

It will pass, and pretty quickly. Until then, make yourself a cup of tea and enjoy the babbles and smiles. Coffee is your friend in the mornings!
It lasted a handful of days as I recall. He sorted it out somehow once he realized we weren't partying and there was nothing to see. I never turned on any lights or left the room. I wanted him to know that nothing but sleeping and eating happens when it's night time.
