HP marathon

It never fails, I cry until I blubber in the beginning of Deathly Hallows part 1. Please tell me I'm not the only one?

Re: HP marathon

  • If I'm honest, every movie from Goblet of Fire onward makes me cry at least once. I love the characters too much.

  • Did you guys see they're making more? They're doing Fantastic Beasts!

  • I've been in an HP spiral lately. When the last movie is over, I feel so sad.

  • I have never seen DH cry, but he gets so damn close when Hermoine erases her parents' memories of her.

This is what realtor gets me. I mean I cry several times during the movie, but that... man that's heartbreaking!

Jealous. DH has no respect for my HP love/obsession. He says they are children's books. I say it's too bad his life is so completely devoid of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
He used to feel that way until I forced him to watch the first movie with me.  He has been hooked ever since.

The movies didn't make me cry, but the book?  The last book when he walks into the woods, pulls out the resurrection stone and talks to his long last family?  Willingly sacrificing himself for everyone else?

    Eff.
Jesus.  I am tearing up and getting goosebumps just thinking about it!

  • Or when Hagrid carries Harry's body out of the Forbidden Forest?  It kills me.

  • I started reading the series in November and finished it in February. Until this weekend, I had not seen a HP movie. Oh my gosh, they are so good. I saw 1-5 this weekend and cannot wait to see the last 3 movies.

I think the last three are the best movies by far. I looooove Half-Blood Prince, but I've found that's not a popular opinion on the internet.

I love it too, I'm a little disappointed that the fighting was left out at the end though.

  • 3 is one of my favorite books but my least favorite movie.

    DEMENTORS DO NOT FUCKING FLY.

The way the movie RUINED the Shrieking Shack scene.  That scene in the book is perfection.
Totally agree! They completely messed up that movie. The movie's shrieking shack scene doesn't even make sense. It doesn't explain anything.

Yes, I totally get teary when Snape tells Dumbledore that he has always loved Lily.

I also get teary when Professor McGonagall gives her speech to Slughorn about how it's time for Slytherin to choose a side and when she tells the knights to do their duty to the school.

I love the audiobooks. I end up listening to all seven of them in a row about once a year.

ETA: Also, the Goblet of Fire is my favorite, followed by the Half-Blood Prince. Screw the rest of the Internet!

  • I love hp. Read the series at least once every summer. Love the movies as well. Dh isn't into hp at all. But at least he knows how much I love it and bought us midnight release movie tickets each time one of the hp movies came out. He said I would always give it away cause I started blubbering like a whale before it even showed dobby die. :(
