California Cryobank Refunds

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday :)

Has anyone had any experiences with getting refunds from California Cryobank? I just submitted our paperwork today to get refunds on 5 of our 6 vials. The minimum post thaw is 15 mil and of those 5 vials they were all 7 - 11 mil only. Only one vial was at 30mil.

If you do have any experiences with this, how long did it take to get your refund? We bought 6 upfront and we will probably only buy per month after this.

Do they also refund you on the shipping fees?

Heck, if they refund us for those 5, including the shipping, thats $3,155 that can go towards more spermies!

Thanks for any input you may have.

  • I had a similar experience, asking for refunds for 4 out of 5 vials that did not meet their minimum requirements (I also used 4 other vials at a midwife practice that did not do sperm analysis, so I did not have the data to request refunds for those but suspect they may have been sub-par as well). I was refunded for the cost of the 4 vials, but not shipping. I think it took about a week from when CCB received the forms.

You know what, I actually got credit, not a refund, for the vials.  Since we couldn't find what we wanted at other banks, we just put it toward future vials.  However, for the last bad vial, they did refund my credit card at my request when I said that I had done IVF, had several frozen embryos, and did not expect to need to buy sperm again.  So expect a credit, not a refund, but if you want to switch banks and won't use the refund, it's worth asking to have it converted to a credit.
