  Could you use his surname? Donna makes the most sense to me, though I'm not in love with it.

  I wanted to name my baby after my mom........we ended up with a boy ( team green) so we ended up naming him after my mom's FATHER, whom she was very close to. That brought tears to her eyes. I think that meant more to her then actually naming him a variation of HER name. Does that work for you?

  @saham07, I want to name my next child to honor my mother who recently passed.We will use her middle name if it is a girl, or the name she chose for me if I were a boy, as the middle name if it is a boy

  I love this! My mom has passed now also,but she was so so happy that I used her fathers name for our son. What. A special way to honor your mom. What was your name to be if you were a boy? Just curious.

  @saham07‌ , my name would've been Ryan had I been a boy, so that will for sure be the middle name for a boy, or Lynn for a girl (that was her middle name). Ironically, my grandfathers name is Donald, but she wasn't super close with him, so that's not really on my radar. I can't think of any other way to honor her with a boys' name...she passed when my DS was only 3 months old

  I loved my grandma and we were very close, she didn't love her name (Edna) but if I spell it backwards it spells Ande which will be our middle name if it's a girl. I wonder if you mix up the letters to make a new name "dalon"? For instance.
