Ugh! Should I rethink my dress??

DH and I have our formal dinner tonight. I bought this super cute dress and plan to go bared-legged in open toed strappy heels. It's POURING down rain and is supposed to continue through the day and into the night. The dinner is at a nice hotel so there will surely be valet service so I won't be outside long. And I plan to wear a jacket and check it when we get there. But I wonder if my choice of dress and shoes aren't quite right considering the weather. Am I totally overthinking it??

    You will probably pull under a covered area to park even...I wouldn't change anything.

    I agree with the others. Change the shoes if possible. The dress is really nice!

    Crap. Not what I wanted to hear :( I don't even know how to wear closed toe shoes with a dress. I would wear trouser socks with slacks and dress shoes... do I need tights/stockings/nylons/whatever they're even called to wear closed toe shoes with a dress?

    I think you can still have bare legs with closed toe shoes. If you still want to wear the open sandals just have your dh drop you off at the door!

    Thanks ladies, I knew you all would make me feel better!! I'll stick with bare-legged for sure. But I'm still thinking about open toe vs closed. I really want to wear my strappy heals, the dress will look so much cuter!!

    I'd go with the strappy heels. I can't stand the feeling of closed toe shoes without nylons. I'm also one of those people that prefers the look of nylons with a formal dress. But your dress is pretty summery, I think bare legs and strappy sandals will look best.
