puttyeast - one of my natural birthing books discusses nipple suckling as a very helpful tool too! I try to play it cool, but that was too much for me. It described a story where a woman's labor had stalled and her husband and friend both graciously offered to suckle to help get her re-started (and did so, simultaneously)! Different strokes for different folks
The breast pump works too This method might be slightly less awkward than having your H and random friend (WTF?) sucking on your nipples in a hospital room.
H and I DTD when I was in labor and that helped speed things along (might have hit 40 hours otherwise!) but we were at home, alone.
So if nipple stimulation or DTD ends up speeding up my labor, should I include that in my birth story for you all? I will assure that it will only be DF, not random friend (also, WTF?).
I'm really tempted to test a couple of my friendships by asking them for this specific help while in labor...
If you do you must have a hidden camera taping their reactions. And you have to share it with us.
This is a special new one. I decided to, uh, trim up tonight, so went in blind. And then all of a sudden saw blood on my hands. So... I've cut myself, and I can't see where.
Days like today I wonder how we will survive with three kids. I am terrified.
You'll do great!
Fffc part duex- it took 4.5 hrs to color & cut my hair because it is so thick. She had to Go over it twice with dye because it wouldn't take. I left with it wet so no pix until tomorrow when I can style it.
WILL IT BE A SELFIE THOUGH? JK, see Selfie Poll by @Lilnunz1
Ok, I've got one... So my best friend has been with her boyfriend for 10 years. 4 years ago when I got pregnant with my son she and her boyfriend had "the talk." He agreed that he was in it for the long haul, he was committed, yadda yadda yadda. Fast forward to this year. They still aren't married or engaged and now he's pulling the "I don't believe in marriage, and I don't need to get married to show that I love you and that I'm committed to you." Now my friend is parroting his anti marriage schtick.
So I guess my FFFC is that I think it's bullshit when men refuse to get married and the women that they're with accept it. (If it's something that they REALLY want.) If you want marriage and children and your partner can't give that to you, why would you stay with them?? If you're "committed with or without a piece of paper" and you know that it's important to the person that you're in love with, why wouldn't you do that for them?!?

I agree. I feel like anyone (man or woman) who says something like "I don't need the paper blah blah" is really just trying to leave the door open to up and leave whenever they want and they aren't as committed as they say they are. it's annoying. if it's just a piece of paper then what's the big deal why can't you sign it? I know people like that and I'm just waiting for the guy to dip out.
Another one. My son loves to go to the playground across the street. I love to see him have fun but I might love the fact that he'll definitely nap after an hour of playing more.

Fail.
I am horrified of this happening. That's why I will never go blind. Invest in a handheld mirror, woman!

Our motivation for pretty much everything is getting DS to sleep.

There will be times where he'll want to go play but I'm exhausted and want to say no. Then I realize he'll nap after, which means I get to nap. That's usually what motivates me to go lol.

Totally cut myself last night. With the trimmer! With a guard! With a mirror!! Still not sure how it happened. Luckily it wasn't bad and was pretty much on the bikini line so no damage done. But still...who does this?!?! Lol

Heck ya. I will find the energy to do things like take him swimming because I know that when I do, he sleeps better at night. Esp if t's my night to put him down - I want him out like a light!
FFFC: It really pisses me off when I take good amounts of time to post answers to a thread, and then have people CLEARLY not read it, and then ask a question that was already answered. I'm totally taking it upon myself to write up these CD things on my blog (slowly, but still), and I don't really expect anyone to read it. But when I give some advice on a CD thread HERE and not three posts later, someone asks a question that I JUST addressed... it makes me wonder why I bother trying to help.
@chickpea912- I noticed that too...and it is annoying. But please keep posting! I have found your answers and blog SUPER helpful. Sorry some people aren't reading closely.
My FFFC: I went to Costco today to get a membership and and it was crazy kid zoo time at the checkout. Friday afternoon and they had all lost their minds. I could not help thinking "I've made a huge mistake" the entire time.

It was definitely not my finest moment - glad I'm not alone though!!!
I have serious baby shower envy. I'm planning my friends (which is tomorrow) and all I can think is... Man I want another! This is dd2 and dd1 is only 2 1/2 and we saved EVERYTHING. Only things I need are new nipples for the bottles, a crib, and a new video monitor because DD1's shit the bed. I don't even want gifts at my imaginary 2nd baby shower I just want everyone to come and hang out and be excited with me and for my family lol. Thinking maybe I'll have everyone over after Vivian comes for a BBQ.
My friend had a quilt making party for her second ds. I couldn't go because of work but I guess it was a lot of fun. She had blank quilt squares and fabric markers. Everyone decorated a square and her mom put it together. It turned out super cute, and was a great excuse to get everyone together.

I'm going to a shower today for a 4th baby. I got the invite and was reluctant to go because I don't know the woman very well but my DF work closely with her husband. Anyways I bought a pack of diapers and a cute little outfit bc she didn't register anywhere. Last night I mentioned it to my fiancé that I thought it was strange to have a shower for a 4th. He said it was bc they have all boys and this one is a girl. Made more sense. I felt way better about going but now I just want my shower to get here!!!
The whole Random-Friend-Nipple-Sucking thing reminds me of a birth story from Ina May Gaskin's Guide to Childbirth when one lady lays down naked next to the birthing mother for some reason (sharing energy or something??). Yeah, no thank you.
But LB, I thought this was my purpose in being your LB? No?
