I have so many feels about the opinions expressed.
Pickles, onions, tomatoes and lettuce are these things called "vegetables", not condiments. Even though pickles and tomatoes are technically fruits.
I eat sandwiches for lunch. I don't use a knife and fork to eat a sandwich. I would not eat a sandwich in the bathroom.
Pacifiers are comfort objects, like nursing is. Kids will give them up when they're ready. People just think all kids should be ready at the same time. That isn't reality.
I would let my children have a glass of wine on special occasions once they're older.
I found it funny that there were posts next to each other saying that kids can't have a drink because then they won't drink responsibly and guns can't be taboo because then they won't use them responsibly.
I don't think that age deserves respect in its own right. People deserve respect in general, no matter their age, but I dislike titles based on age or marital status (for women), like miss, ma'am, sir, etc., and I don't think someone grows into respect, especially when they often don't treat others with respect.
I don't think my cousin (people in general) should receive disability payments because they are hooked on drugs. She worked like 1.5 years total in her life, has been hooked on oxy and heroin for years (my aunt is raising her son) and yet she gets disability checks that she can spend on more drugs. I mean WTF! Why are my tax dollars buying drugs. Helping to get her in rehab (again) is one thing but supporting her addiction, not a fan...
Here's a uo but from an old high school classmate I ran into tonight at Walmart! He said are you expecting again I said no I just had a baby three months ago >:/ don't know if that counts as an uo maybe it does because he made an opinion about my stomach

Okay - flame away!
I think it's stupid to want to spend millions of dollars to drug test welfare recipients in order to save a fraction of that.
You want government to be run like a business? Businesses make those decisions every day. You know, like when companies decide whether the cost of lawsuits and loss of reputation are more or less costly than fixing the fatal defect in their product.
People who are proud of the ill informed opinions they hold should be shipped off to an island somewhere uninviting.
She's not getting welfare she's collecting disability. Totally different.

It's the same idea. She qualifies for disability for some reason or another. ... it's not easy to.get disability checks....
Talking to her, she only had to show positive drug tests results... Maybe that's just CA but she has received a check for the past 2 years and she even admits it all goes to drugs - nothing to take care of her son. I personally don't thing you are disabled if you are continuously choosing to poison yourself and I should not have to support you financially in doing that - as unpopular of an opinion as that may be.
Anybody who believes you get disability for being a drug addict is as stupid as the person who told that lie in the first place. Come on people, common sense.
Yes, and it's mostly family and friends. Strangers just look at me like I'm crazy when saying we may want another child. I hate the way people these days think you are a nut job if you want more than 2 or 3 kids.
Yup, I've always said I'd really like 4 kids and everyone said I was crazy. Now that we have our first LO they're all like "I bet NOW you realize why two is enough!" all know-it-all like. When I respond "nope, I'd still like to have a large family", they start to list all the reasons why that's not a good idea.
Who decided that 2 kids is the right amount and why does anyone else care if my DH and I choose to have more than that?!?!

You actually can

You can get on disability for being a drug addict.
For being a drug addict ONLY? Not for your drug addiction causing an actual disability or having an accident, etc? Huh.
Under Federal Social Security disability law, if your drug or alcohol use is material to the finding of disability, you are not considered disabled - that is, if you stopped using drugs and your disability stopped too, then you won't get disability. However, if your drug or alcohol use has caused a disability that will continue regardless of whether you continue to use drugs or not, then you can be found disabled. However, if you are using drugs, the Social Security Administration will usually suggest a representative payee to take care of your benefits for you, as you are likely not able to take care of them yourself. (I said USUALLY, because some judges don't believe in rep. payees).
I know nothing about state specific disability law.

ColeRose I was just trying quickly show that addiction itself is considered a medical disability and eligible for benefits in CA. Drug addiction is not discriminated against and is considered a medical disability. You can get certified by a doctor that you are unable to work because of it. I've seen it over and over again. The whole point of SDI is to provide income replacement when an employee is unable to work due to a medical disability. I don't know that there is a master list out there or link that I can find you that lists every condition eligible under SDI. It's all on a case by case basis.
I think I get what you're saying ... You're saying that if the only grounds they have to get disability is the fact that they are a drug addict/user then it's bogus that they get money for simply being an addict. Is this what you're saying? Cause if so, I think I'd tend to agree. Kinda like those horrible foster parents you hear about who take kids in just for the subsidy and neglect or abuse the poor kids. Makes me sick that people abuse the systems like that. However, if one truly needs it, then I get why you would use it and have no issues with that.
@Loolaide I think we agree? I'm not sure because we seldom do, but yes, I find the comment that it's racist to be offensive, as if the only poor people who benefit from assistance are black.
I agree that the hood rich part was totally racist.
Sorry if I offended the sahm's. I was not insinuating that any of you were in the wrong. I was talking about people( which I know quite a few) that seem to only have kids to avoid having to get a job outside of the home. And these children are not cared for in a way that I think they should be.
As far as the racist accusatuons, I would like to clarify that I NEVER EVER said anything about race. If thats the way you took it so be it. But I never knew a neighborhood needed to have a certain racial profile to be considered a hood. You may not agree with my uo, thats why it was a uo. But I would really appreciate not being referred to as a racist. That is the furthest from the truth.

Perhaps you could explain what you meant by hood rich. I'm sure some of your best friends are black.

@liz429 FWIW I don't think you meant to be prejudice racist or any of that. I didn't get that at all from what you wrote. Although I dont agree with everything you wrote, I will say Hood rich can be anyone. If people gif African Americans that's on them
