When to get early u/s?

Hey girls -- my LMP puts me at 5 weeks tomorrow, but based on my O date I think I am only at 4 weeks.  My OB is allowing me to go in for an early u/s between 1/5 - 1/12 (6-7 weeks) and then I meet with her for my 8 week appt on the 20th.  Of course these are going off of my LMP. 

If you were in my shoes -- when would you schedule an early u/s?  Last time we saw growth/fetal pole but no heartbeat from 5w2d and 6w2d.

    I should mention that I am hoping to see a hb at this appt -- so I don't want to time it too early and not sure what that would be.

    We saw the heartbeat on Tuesday at 6 weeks exactly.  If I were to do it again, I would've waited until 6.5 weeks because I was soooo nervous that the heartbeat wouldn't be there yet & i would freak out.  Definitely go off of your O date though.  At my u/s, I was "supposed" to be 6 weeks, 4 days according to my LMP, so I alerted the u/s tech right off the bat and when we saw the baby, it was measuring exactly 6 weeks which was perfectly in line with my O date.

    My dr wouldn't do a sono until I was 6 wks, since I had just m/c the month before.  I went in at 6 wks 6 days and it was there! So, I'd go in a little closer to the 7 wk mark.

    With my last pregnancy, I had an early u/s at 6w3d and was able to see the hb.  I knew exactly when I o'd that time around though. 

    This time, I am going in around 7w5d, but I have no clue when I o'd, so I feel more comfortable with going in a little bit later.  Plus this was the soonest I could get in and I really didn't want to fight with the receptionist about needing to get in sooner....trying to keep the stress level as low as possible :-)

    I have the same situation.  My OB office keeps thinking that I am almost 7 wks now because of my LMP.  I am going to insist that they let me wait another week until I am 6w to come in for the u/s.  I don't want to be freaked out for no reason or lead to believe that everything is ok for no reason (like last time).

    I'm going at 8 weeks based off of LMP, and I'm about three days behind that as far as my O date is concerned.  I didn't want anything earlier in case we didn't see a heartbeat and then you have to wait and wonder, etc.  I know if we have a healthy heartbeat that I'm doing ok, and if there is not one, well, than that's that and we will be heartbroken.  But at least there won't be any wondering.

    I planned to wait until 7 weeks with this pregnancy to get my 1st u/s.  However at 6 wks I started spotting so we did a u/s.  We were able to see the h/b at that time.  I would recommend going based on your O date.  I am a later O'er and if I went by my LMP that would have put me further along than I actually was.  I've been measuring correct with my O date.

    I will probably make it 1/12 or just after.  That would be a little more the 6 weeks.  Then at my OB's office they do a belly u/s for my 8 week appt (again, will only be 7).  Thanks for the feedback.  It really sucked having three u/s last time each showing growth and no hb.  I would rather just go straight for the little guy being old enough!

    We had an u/s at 5 weeks 5 days and had no heartbeat. ?My OB and the tech told me not to expect one, but it was still difficult. ?2 weeks later, at 7 weeks 6 days, we had a beautiful hb. ?So I would wait until as close to the 12th as you can, since you're hoping to see the hb. ?The longer you wait the more unnecessary agony you can save yourself.

    My doctor wouldn't see me until 7 weeks (even with repeat miscarriages) because by then a heartbeat would be seen if the pregnancy was viable. He's seen too many patients go in at 6 weeks and not see a heartbeat and then stress for a week until a repeat u/s shows a hb at 7 weeks. GL!

    We saw a heartbeat at 5 weeks 6 days but it was at 90 so it left me freaking out for the whole next week until we went back. ?I was so afraid it was going to stop. ?I guess it had just started beating.
