Congrats to Siona on her BFP! You give us hope!

  • I am still prepping for IUI #3.  This is my last cycle with Clomid.

I am on CDay20 but I didn't respond to Clomid this time, so I'm on another round from CDay18-22.  I have an appointment for an u/s and b/w next Tuesday.

FX that it is finally working, but that my trip on April 5-8 doesn't pose a problem with timing the trigger and IUI!

QOTW:  I can't wait to get our vegetable gardens started, and to start hiking with DH and our dog again.

  • It's CD 9 and I just got back from my follicle scan. Have one on each side, one 12mm and one at 14mm (assuming I'm remembering correctly, I forgot to write it down!) They're both 2mm bigger then on CD 9 last cycle, which is not what I was expecting considering I've been sick the last couple of days. I wonder if it means we might trigger a day earlier then last month?

A side note (although it may be totally useless for this cycle, but hopefully good for possible future cycles) DH finally quit smoking! Fx he can keep it up, he quit a week ago. Hopefully it'll improve his swimmers! It's been sooooo hard for him to quit because of a lot of work related stress, but since he got the flu last week he felt it was finally time to try and give it up. He knew I wanted him to quit but I never pushed it because I knew HE had to make the decision, not me. He's tried before but I'm hoping he'll be able to succeed this time :)

  • Had my first monitoring appointment for IUI 1.2 after 3 days of Menopur and the tech commented that my lining is trilaminar already. Woo! Just from my limited Googling this morning, it sounds like that's a good thing, and it means maybe I'm producing some estrogen on my own... and hopefully don't have to stim for over 3 weeks this time.

QOTW: this is my first year having a dog, and I cannot wait to go hiking with her!

  • I am 7dpiui and this 2WW hasn't been bad (so far). My husband and I got 2 baby ferrets the day after my IUI and they are keeping me really busy lol! I am hoping that this third time is a charm because I am really scared to move on the the next step. My RE said that if this cycle doesn't work, he wants to have "the talk". I've looked into a bunch of different ways to finance IVF and I just don't think we can pull it off.

    Good luck to everyone!!

@SweetieShellieH - If your husband has a smart phone, tell him to download Quitit.  I used this app when I decided to stop smoking.  Each time I log in to the app, I'm told how many days I have not smoked, how much money I've saved, how much tar I have not consumed, and how many cigarettes I have not smoked since my quit date.  The app also tells you health benefits like when your BP goes to normal, when your carbon monoxide levels drop, when the hairlike projections in your lungs begin to function normally.  It's pretty awesome.

  • @SweetieShellieH‌ Congrats to your husband!! That's a huge accomplishment!

    GL @pmpknbride‌ !!

I am working on IUI #4 and have my second monitoring appt first thing Saturday morning since my follies are growing more slowly this time around.

QOTW: I like doing getting out to the beach or the theme parks. And wearing skirts and dresses.

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

Love getting outside for runs when the weather gets nicer!  Oh and getting a tan!

@Sha259 Can you add me, please? Sorry, I guess I'm already on there!

    1. Where are you at in the IUI process? (2WW, meds, break, etc.)

Last night was my last day of Clomid (50mg).

    2. Which IUI are you on? IUI #1

    3. Test/Beta day? No idea.... (See below)

I finished my Clomid last night and went in for my first monitoring appointment this morning. I had no measurable follicles, and my lining was a 6, I think. I was kind of bummed. I thought I would at least have some small follies that just weren't mature yet. The nurse said it was still "normal" for CD 10, and that they wouldn't do anything differently until sometime next week (like stair-step or cancel, I guess).

To me, it sounds like she is being overly optimistic. I would love to hear what you guys think. Do you think there is any way this will end up moving forward if I don't have any measurable follicles on CD 10??

QOTW: I love going for a drive or a walk, or just having the windows open! I majorly crave fresh air and sunshine in the winter, and I am really, really looking forward to spring. (I know it is technically spring now, but I mean "real spring." ;-)

    **siggy warning**  **everyone welcome**

@RNCrystal (((HUGS))) sorry to hear about the BFN.

@packerfan4life wow that is one heck of a response to 50 mg Clomid! I get a max of 2 mature follies total on 50 mg.

As next IUI will be our last before moving on to IVF, I've talked to the doc about moving to 100mg for IUI #3. Ever the pragmatic woman, I don't want to dwell on my complete failure to get pregnant, I want to feel like I am doing something to make it happen!!

    Good luck to everyone!!

  • Good luck to everyone in their 2WW!!

@calindi Your numbers sound great! Good luck!

@RNCrystal I’m sorry about your BFN. :-( I’ve never ovulated since I’ve been temping, so I don’t know from personal experience, but I know on TTGP some of the ladies don’t have a temp drop until a few days into their next cycle.

  • New to this board. My husband and I are doing IUI with donor sperm. My husband does not have the reproductive gene.

IUI #1 was BFN (chemical pregnancy) on to IUI #2. I was on letrozole and had my US today that showed 3 mature follicles (right side was 23.5, left side 19.5 and 26). Trigger shot tonight and then IUI Friday morning.

My favorite thing about spring is opening day for baseball. We love our hometown team Milwaukee Brewers! Opening day will be different this year since I will be in TWW.

  • I've been benched until April 18th.  The follitism triggered lots of cysts.  I will go back to the RE and see if the cysts shrunk and if I'm ready for IUI #2.  Then I've requested to go back to clomid for that cycle since it seems like clomid worked when it wasn't two months in a row.

@lebradford‌ I seem to respond late to meds. The two cycles I've done, 1 with clomid, and 1 with femara I haven't been ready to trigger until day 14. I've been told that follicles can grow 1-2mm per day. Do you know what size you largest one was at? When is your next monitoring appointment? My last cycle on Femara I went in on CD10 and my largest was only at 10mm by day 13 it was at 16mm.

@Kam10 Thanks for the response. The nurse said on Wednesday that "there were no measurable follicles." This morning she said that they don't count them as "stimulated" until 10mm, and that one of my ovaries had absolutely nothing, and the other had a few tiny ones, but the largest was still only 7mm on CD 12. :-( I'm definitely nowhere near ready to trigger. I have to go back on Monday, but she said on Monday I would probably have to start taking more Clomid (100mg this time instead of 50mg). I'm hoping at least that will do the trick, but I'm kind of discouraged too.

I'm assuming you never get "stair-stepped" a third time in a cycle, do you? I just really want to ovulate. I'm so tired of taking Provera to get a period. :-p

@lebradford‌ FX you just have some slow responding follicles and you have something measurable on Monday. I'm not an expert by any means, but I haven't heard of anyone stair-stepping a third time in a cycle. IF sucks! Good luck on Monday

  • I have an update!

The nurse talked to the doctor, and they are going to stair-step me right away instead of waiting until Monday. I start another 5 days of Clomid tonight (100 mg). Sadly, I'm actually pretty excited about this. I was feeling pretty hopeless about any additional follicle growth without extra help. Fingers crossed!
    **siggy warning**  **everyone welcome**

  • Still on a break over here. My DH and I are really working on dropping some weight & he is on month #2 of his supplements, I am thinking maybe another IUI in June, our RE is supportive of our decision to get as healthy as possible while seeing if DH numbers increase!

    ~*~*~ ALL ARE WELCOME & GREATLY APPRECIATED~*~*~

    TTC since October 2012

Went to OBGYN in August 2013-Referred us to UCONN RE in September 2013

Me (31):  Blood / Ultrasound / HSG / SIS- All Great  -  DH (32): SA is very low

DH met with Urologist nothing is "wrong" just very low count and low mobility

RE 1st Consult October 31, 2013 - Male Infertility Dx.

RE Appointment on 1/15/14-Decided on 1st IUI

    IUI Cycle #1-Clomid 50mg 2/14-BFN

We decided to take a break for 3/14-4/14

    IUI Cycle #2-Clomid 50 mg 5/9-BFN

IUI Cycle #3-(RE Office called us in for a back to back IUI for another SA) 5/12-BFN

*Husband's count is still very low post wash however after 4+ months on supplements, vitamins, and a healthy lifestyle (aka no beer)  his mobility has doubled! I am very happy for him, small victories!

May 2014-RE wants us to progress to IVF as 3 failed IUI's.

IVF Seminar meeting on 6/12 & then meeting with RE on 7/9 to come up with our plan for our miracle baby!
