Dear retailers and clothing manufacturers everywhere (Specifically Dickies),
I hate you. Why am I not able to find any decent khaki WORK pants that are PLUS size AND maternity? why why why? No, I'm not interested in khaki "dress" pants with thin, crappy fabric. I want WORK pants. Khaki. Plus-sized. And MATERNITY. Damn you all.
I have a fantastic type of Dickies work pant (FP121) that I've been wearing for the last year or so, but now, at only 6 months, the belly band is just barely keeping my FUPA in check.
Suck it retailers.
Sincerely, Ichabody
Oh and P.S.: WTF is up with no pockets in maternity clothes?!
Are you at all handy with a sewing machine? I've seen lots of tutorials online about creating your own maternity pants out of pre-pregnancy jeans/pants. They usually involve cutting off the top band and button area and stitching a stretchy material into a belly panel - could you try that?
I WANT to try that. I looked for stretchy material at Joanns yesterday and saw none. Ideas on where I might find?
I saw somewhere (pinterest maybe?) where someone just sewed a pre-made belly band to the top of pants that she had cut the existing waistband off of. Might be a little more expensive, but seems like a lot easier.
Love it... Then I wouldn't have to worry about a seam up and down my belly.
