  I remember talking to FIL our first day home from the hospital and letting out the most intense fart of my life. I was mortified, and he pretended it hadn't happened which was awkward. I could not control my post partum gas at all for a few days fun times

  I remember when I was pregnant with DS I was reading articles and books about birth and after birth thinking how in the hell did I get so far in life not knowing some of these things happened in pregnancy.  They're like secrets no one talks about!

  I am laughing hysterically but completely terrified as well. I haven't done any research into the after birth experience and was planning on just "winging" it. Glad I read this though!

  I loved the mesh undies & the pad ice packs! Make sure you take a bunch of both home from the hospital.

  It's not that it is constipation like, but that most women either tear or have an episodmy (sp?) which results in stitches very close to your butthole making it hurt really bad when you poop. The softer the stool the better though.

  Take a shit ton of Colace and it makes it less traumatic. The mental build up was worse than the actual experience for me.
