Re: 3/24 March Shimmering Shamrocks Check-In!

  • Good morning ladies.

You are all in my thoughts. Congrats to the BFPs, fx for those in the 2ww, and hugs to everyone who needs them.

AFM: 5dp5dt and I'm fighting every urge I have in my body to give into the HPT monster. I'm still beta or bust because I feel like I would rather have the bandage ripped off once vs rip it of and put it back on then rip it off and so forth like I did last time. Mustering positive thoughts is proving difficult for me :(

Qotd: my hubby just planted my trees that I got from the Arbor Day foundation (I received them the day of my transfer so I'm hoping that is good juju). I purchased 2 red Maples, 2 quaking aspens, and one pink flowering dogwood tree.... Can't wait to see these beauties take off!

  • Good morning ladies!

My beta is Wednesday. And I'm beta or bust. I've been feeling like my boobs are less sore and have started to prepare myself for the worst. But of course as I sit here at work I feel like my boobs have gottern more sore. So I dunno what to think.

QOTD: I look forward to planting. This weekend we plante some pansies in the containers on our front porch. Of course this week the temps are dipping back into the 20s and there's a chance of snow tomorrow so I may have jumped the gun on planting but I was just so tired of all the brown.

     TTC since August 2011, Me = 40, DH = 38
Unexplained IF. Tried Clomid for 3 cycles. All BFNs. BFP 1/6/13. Chemical pregnancy.

Moving on to IVF#1. ER 11/26/13, 16 eggs retreived, 12 mature and all fertilized. 2 blasts transferred on 12/1. All other embies arrested so nothing left to freeze. Beta 12/10 = BFN. IVF #2 March 2014. BFP!!! TEAM BLUE!!!

  • Good Morning ladies, I am 5dp5dt and I did test this morning and it was negative... I am hoping it is still early.  Thoughts?

Tomorrow is my 31st birthday, I have tried celebrating but really not feeling up to it this year.  My mom came and stayed late last week with everything going on and her and my husband have been wonderful but I am still a bit down, I really am hopeful since we are almost out of time.  (our fertility insurance is running out in June).

QOTD: Usually my birthday is the first nice day but it's supposed to be 20 and snowy here in Chicago tomorrow soo... it doesn't feel like spring yet to me.  However, we moved into our first house last August and I am dying to start a garden this year so that's what i am most excited about.

  • O2girl - beta or bust!  you can do it!

SCSmith2011- good luck Wednesday, I'll be thinking about you and sending positive thoughts.

ejrobbi- It might be too early.  I hope you get a good beta this week, FX for you!

ExoticAntibiotic- sending lots of hugs your way.

I'm in the 2ww- beta is Thursday.  Because my clinic is in NYC and I'm in DC, I might not hear back for a few days because I'm doing the bloodwork at a labcorp here in DC.

I'm trying to ignore all these symptoms.  No nausea last night.  My DH had to go to a conference this week out of town so I've been giving myself the PIO shots myself-- NO FUN!  My hand gets so shaky and a little leaks out each night.

QOTD:  I love breaking out my spring dresses!  There's nothing better than a comfy cotton dress :-)

    IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled
IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14
FET #1 Mar 2016- baby boy due 12/16/16

  • Hi Shamrocks! Congrats to all the BFPs and sending huge (((HUGS))) to the BFNs.

UPDATE:  My transfer is scheduled for Wednedsay.  I have one more lining check tomorrow and everything should be a go.  I can't believe I'll be PUPO by the next check in!  I'm so nervous.  The PIO shots are not nearly as bad as I feared that they would be.  I'm definitely willing to keep them up if it will bring me a miracle baby.

QOTD:  I'm looking forward to spending sometime outside with my dog.  I love talking her for walks in the woods but its been too cold and muddy here.

  • Good morning ladies,

After testing on Saturday at 6dp3dt and getting a BFN, I recieved a lot of support and comments that it probably was too early. I looked at the timelines and links that a couple ladies posted, and they confirm that while the trigger should be out of my system, it would almost certainly be too early to detect pregnany. I was confused by one of the timelines that I read, prior to testing, which said to test no earlier than that point (6 days past) which I took to mean it could also detect at that point, but obviously not.  Anyway, I apologize for screwing that up.

I have held off on testing since, but think I'll try again tomorrow (9dp3dt) and again each day until my beta on Friday. I don't have a really good feeling about this cycle, which is why I was eager to get the bad news out of the way and start planning again, but maybe I will be very happily surprised.

Congrats to the BFPs and deepest sympathy to the BFNs.

QOTD: I love spending more time outside in the spring, especially when I can start wearing sandals again. I'm especially looking foward to visiting the National Zoo, again and seeing the baby animals.

  • @jaztaz1 I don't think I will make it to beta without testing either so I will probably be testing right alongside you!  I thought I would wait until 6dp5dt though but that's what I say now.  I'm really torn though because BFNs will make the PIO that much harder to deal with!

LOL I know what you mean. I have a POAS schedule day 5, 7, 9, 11 then beta. But you are right... after getting a BFN, you are going to want to quit taking meds. Hopefully we dont get BFN or if so that they come really early and change!

  • Hello Ladies!

Congrats to all of the BFP's!!  HUGS to all those how need them, particularly the BFN's.  IVF does blow!  Sending everyone positive thoughts!

I posted an update in last Thursdays check-in.  But for those who missed it - We ended up having a 4th egg fertilize, which was an amazing surprise!  All 4 embryos survived freezing!  We have 4 frosties!  We will do another round of IVF in May, then implant after that.  My RE is worried about my lining.  I had issues with it on my first round of IVF and it did not increase at all this round.  But I was not on POI or any other meds to increase lining.  So hopefully things will look better the next time we implant!!!

QOTD - I am ready to get outside and walk.  I love walking outside when the weather is nice.  I also love sitting outside with a glass of wine enjoying the nice weather!  Can't wait!  Still too cold in St. Louis!

    My TTC Story:

  • @jaztaz1 we will not be doing any more fertility treatments once my insurance runs out, we feel that is our ending point.  We will move on to adoption as my family and my company both can/will offer us some financial assistance with adoption.

I am just hopeful it doesn't come to that and we get preggo soon.

Hi ladies!  Congrats to the BFPs!  Best of luck to those still on the journey!  ((HUGE HUGS)) to those that need them!

We transferred my lone embry on Thursday, March 20.  It was a beautiful 6 cell embryo.  We are hoping and praying that it snuggles in and stays for the long haul!  However, my anxiety levels are kind of high because the clinic failed to do assisted hatching as had been planned.

QOTD:  Just spending time outside!  I love being outside when the weather is beautiful!

  • Well, I had this really bad feeling that I would be the first Shamrock BFN, and lo and behold...

In between feeling horribly sorry for myself, I'm trying to get geared up for our FET that will hopefully happen in April.  I think what's so worrisome to me is that we are truly starting to near the end of our road.  I think back to three years ago when we started IUIs and I thought, oh, these will surely work.  And they didn't.  And then we got pregnant.  And then I miscarried.  And then I thought, ok, I didn't think I needed IVF, but if we get to that point, it will surely work...and it didn't.  And now we're looking at our last three frozen chances, and the way my luck goes...

I'm just in disbelief that we are here.

Sorry for the downer post.  I'm going to step away for a bit until I can get a little perspective and be more supportive.

Huge congrats to all the BFPs and big hugs to those who need them. @ExoticAntibiotic  so sorry for the BFN.  Huge ((hugs)) for you.

    Good luck Shamrocks!! xo

  • Hi all,

I just got our Day 3 report. We have 12 little embryos still clearly in the running, and a few stragglers that might surprise. As of today, we have 1 10 cell, 1 9 cell, 9 8 cell and 1 7 cell all chugging along. Our clinic grades on a 4 point scale with 4 being the best. All the embryos were Grade 3 except for one Grade 4 8 Cell. We also have 3 6 cell embryos that could maybe catch up. So... I'm feeling pretty good about those numbers. The doctor is still saying she will only transfer one due to OHSS, which still has me bummed, but hopefully we will have some to freeze for future attempts.

My transfer is set for Wednesday morning at 8 am. Fingers crossed everything goes well!

  • Hi there Shammies!

Sorry I don't have time to write more to each person, but I am so happy for all the BFPs and PUPO ladies! Good luck to all of you in the 2WW and stimming/prep phases, and big, huge, hugs to ladies who got BFNs. You are all in my thoughts!!

I tested again this morning with FMU and it was a glaring negative again. But after reading what so many of you wrote on my thread, and then finding a good bit about HCG levels sometimes taking a longer time to get going with IVF (did anyone else read that??) - I feel a little more comforted since I'm not at 9dp5dt until Wed.

That said, I know I'm going to test again tomorrow morning because I have the test. I actually felt more nauseous today and had a wicked headache when I woke up. So I'm hoping that there being kind of a change in symptoms is a good thing.... but it could all just be in my head.

Thank you all again for your kind words and encouragement on the thread I posted. They really did help.

I hope there are no more BFNs for anyone and wish everyone lots of success!

I'm trying to keep myself occupied.  I'm 6dp5dt and had a negative test on a FRER this morning.  Afterwards, I had DH hide all the rest of my tests!  I have to wait until at least Thursday to test again.  My beta is Friday morning and I have really high hopes!

  • I took another HPT this morning (9dp3dt) and it was BFN (again). I'll keep trying until my beta on Friday, but I'm pretty sure it didn't work. Since I kinda felt like this cycle was doomed from the start (low AFC even with microdose Lupron, accidentally started stimming a day late, only got three eggs from 5 large follicles, took several (painful) attempts to get the catheter in for the ET, came down with a cold after ET, nothing to freeze) it seemed to me that it would take a miracle for it to work.

*BUT* since it seemed to me that if it did work, this would almost certainly be my one and only pregnancy, I'm okay with us trying again (even though we are 100% OOP) if we can get more embryos and get some to freeze so we have the option of more than one child. Plus, I'd like to take a break and lose some weight so that I'm starting at a healthier pre-pregnancy weight. I've gained so much I'm more than the weight I would have expected to be at if I was 9-months preggo, for crying out loud!

This all being said- I'd be estastic if it turned out that I get a positive Beta on Friday, but I feel better having rationalized why another failure would not be the worst thing for me.

  • Congrats to all the BFPs! To all the girls with BFNs I'm thinking about you and I'm so sorry.

Today is day 8 of stims. I go back tomorrow but they think ER will be Friday or Saturday. I'm hoping for Saturday because Friday, march 28th will be one year from the IUI that got me pregnant and sadly ended. So I would like a different EDD in the event that this one works.

Reastically I know that the day doesn't matter.

QOTD I just can't wait to be outside!
  • @Love4Labs326 Good luck with your beta! Fingers crossed!

    @Carol77B That’s a great attitude to have.

@AlaskaDee23 – Thanks! I put it on right after my transfer and wore it whenever lounging around the house during the time between transfer and beta. I purchased it from Zazzle. I wanted something to remind myself to think optimistically during the 2WW.

    Hi ladies,

I went in for my first ultrasound at 5 weeks 5 days and they didn't see anything. It turns out my beta was only 610 and they said it needed to be above 1200 to see anything. My beta has been low this whole time but consistently doubling. I'm a nervous wreck. I go back for another ultrasound and beta this Friday. I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst :( I really just want to throw up and sleep forever.

  • Congrats to all the BFPs and hugs to those who need them.

BFN here and too sad to check in yesterday when I got the news. Life can be so unfair. I keep thinking all day, it is what it is but why?!!! What makes me the saddest is that my eggs suck so bad that I after two cycles, I didn't get a single frosty. I'm sure I set a record for the worst response or something with only 3 eggs each time. So with the BFN news was also the realization that any hope for a genetic baby is gone - taking that in has been the hardest part. At 27 years old, I just don't understand why. :(( Thanks for being so supportive Shammies!
