  My H didn't go through basic, he went to BOLC, but it's probably similar after graduation. My H had a certain number of days to PCS to his first duty station and I was included on those orders. We were able to set up movers for a few days after he graduated, I actually dealt with the movers while he went ahead to find us a place to live. We didn't get these orders until a few weeks before he graduated though, there is a lot of hurry up and wait.
  
  Hopefully someone else chimes in, but I would assume you will be on his orders and can move at the same time as him.
  
  Eta: I was in Las Vegas while he was in Georgia for BOLC, his orders were to move his household goods from Vegas since that was his home of record, not from Georgia even though that is where he had been for a significat amount of time.

  My DH got his orders confirmed roughly two weeks before the end of AIT.  I drove out to pick him up after his last day, we found a house there (he was stationed at the same base as AIT) and I drove him home that same day.  He received (I think) 10 days of TDY from the day I picked him up until he needed to report at his base.  He had to make all the arrangements with moving through the closest base to where we lived (his home of record), but I was able to deal with the movers and packers when they arrived because he'd listed me on the paperwork.  If we didn't have an address at the new base yet, they would have put our things into storage until we could arrange for delivery.  Another option we would have had (and which was suggested several times) was to send DH out to the base ahead of me, let him find a home for us, and then have our goods shipped.  We weren't comfortable with that option, but I know it doesn't bother some people.  Your DH's orders should include moving you and your kids, and he'll receive a housing allowance based on having you with him.  Depending on your base, you may be able to get into basing housing easy peasy, or there may be a two year long waiting list (as at our first duty station) or you may prefer to live off base entirely.  Unfortunately, unless your husband's orders have actually been cut, you may not be able to get on any waiting lists for base housing, but once you have an idea of where he's probably going you can start looking at the base's websites and googling information about the housing situations and local communities there.

  My hubby did OBC but my nephew just went through basic and AIT last year. You'll know before he graduates where he's going. If it's somewhere in the states, you'll travel to your new duty station together. If it's overseas, that can throw a wrench in everything. At that point it depends where he's deploying to, out of, and if he's deploying with a unit. I'd say odds are good that you'll be traveling together to your new duty station either way.   My DH didn't get his orders until about 10 days before graduation. He flew home the morning after graduation, the movers came for our stuff, and then we drove to the new station together.
