Anyone with experience with 2 or more children?

I will be a STM this go round.  With my first, I only had to worry about him and his schedule.  I'm concerned this time, and would like some advice.

What are some things you changed from child 1 to child 2?  My DS was on a 2, 5, 8, 11 BFing schedule.  He now eats at 8:30, 12:00, and 6:00 with snacks in between.  He naps from 12:00-3:30.

Any tips on incorporating the new baby and his schedule/needs?

  • All the STMs I've talked to say the schedule kind of goes out the window in the beginning of having a newborn at home. It's more about surviving. Also, I plan to nurse(or formula feed) on demand in the beginning so no feeding schedule.

DS is 20 months and is eating regular foods.  Basically whatever we're eating.  I am not nursing him any longer.

I'll definitely be in survival mode in the beginning, but I was able to get DS1 on a BF schedule fairly quickly.
