Milk Storage

Wow, did I completely miss that we un-stickied the BFing thread? :(

Anyway- I have a conference all day tomorrow. I have a room all set for me to pump & a bag to tote all my stuff around, but I don't think I'll have access to a refrigerator. What should I do to keep things fresh? Ice packs? The earliest bottles will be pumped at 9:30am and I won't get home until about 6:30pm.

TIA!

Re: Milk Storage

  • I keep a bunch of ice packs and bottled water in a cooler. As I drink the water, there's room for the bottles or bags of milk. The more cold items you have packed against each other, the colder it will stay. Good luck!

Ice packs in a cooler are supposed to keep milk good for 24 hours. It sounds like you'll be fine. I'm sure you'll be able to smell it if it seems off when you put it away.

  • Thanks ladies! It's kind of a pain in these situations, but worth it for LO :)
