Unsure what to think... Concerned

About an hour after sex, I had a gush of fluid come out... Not discharge, not urine, not sperm. It was enough that I felt like I peed my pants.

The gush happened about 3 hours ago. My drs doesn't have an on-call nurse and I'm on vacation in Florida. Should I head to the local hospital? I haven't had cramping or contractions and am so unsure what to do.

Have you tried calling your doctor? Mine has an after hours answering service. You leave a message and they page the doctor. I usually get a call back in 30 min or less.

Yes go to the hospital. It may be nothing but it may be something. My OB pretty much chewed me out the other day bc I didn't go to L&D for every little thing. It is better to be safe!

I hope it's nothing but definitely go to the hospital!!! I was only leaking a very small amount of fluid when I went in then my water broke at the hospital!! Better to be safe than sorry!! Good luck!!

Thank you so much everyone!! The staff here has been wonderful and we are waiting on a test result. The dr checked and saw no fluid so hopeful it's nothing serious.

We are headed home... Tests came back negative for amniotic fluid and dr said to follow up with my OB when I get home. In the meantime, pelvic rest. Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes!!!

I often get a small gush a couple of hours after sex. I assume that it's either semen or watery discharge. But any time something seems weird or off, especially with a gush, it's worth getting it checked. I'm glad everything is alright!
