Extremely tired.. Anyone else feel like this?

I'm a first time pregnant mom to be.. Im 6 weeks. Of course I've read all about the 1st trimester and confided in my sister in laws who all have kids about being drained and tired all the time. But I literally feel so winded doing anything that takes extra effort and I'm constantly tired. Around 3-4 everyday I have to take a nap I can't even function normally. I've read you do get fatigued in 1st trimester but I was just curious if anyone else was feeling this too? I can't even imagine having a little one at home now and feeling like this because I can barely keep up with my dog!

  • I am 6-7 weeks right now and feel exactly the same way. I'm about to go for my nap actually, lol.  I was super ridiculously active before too so this is very different for me.. I feel more tired than when I run marathons.

  • Pfew!! This is great to hear! I was active too before and I can't even fathom the idea of going to workout right now. Thanks for sharing! Makes me feel better to know I'm not only one. :)
  • Yes! I can barely keep my eyes open sometimes.

  • I had a meltdown to my sister the other day because I wanted to work out and didnt have energy to. She looked at me like I have 2 heads, lol, like "this crazy hormonal pregnant woman is crying because she wants to work out" lol

The hardest thing has been trying to help my husband understand that my exhaustion is not a put-on and that I'm not trying to get out of doing things. This is our second child, and I don't think he remembers what it was like the first time (plus we are both more tired this time around with a three year old). He tries to be understanding, but I can see that he's annoyed. Luckily, I am coming up on 13 weeks and my energy is finally starting to return!

  • Oh I can totally relate!! So relieved to hear I'm not only one because I too get those stares sometimes like "are you really that tired?" No one truly understands until it happens to them! Thanks so much for the feedback!

Totally in the same boat here. My coworkers know something is up, but given how my last pregnancy ended, I won't be saying anything until my doctor runs all the necessary tests. Right now I am blaming it on this awful chest cold I have. At any rate, between baby and this cold, I feel half dead every night. But even before the cold, I was ungodly tired. It's making my brain complete mush. People ask me things at work and I can hardly focus and need to have them repeat things just to wrap my mind around the topic. I feel like I need to start every conversation with, 'My apologies, I'm really not as stupid as I seem at the moment." Cannot wait for this lovely symptom to subside!

  •  I am SO tired. So tired. It's normal. I'm just in a total fog lately.
  • I'm a 2nd time mom and the exhaustion seems so much worse this time around. I'm only 5 weeks but with an 8-month old at home and the fact that I work full-time, this is TOUGH!

  • I was completely non-functional at that stage of the game. I'd fall asleep anywhere, in the midst of anything! Now that I'm 35 weeks its like that again. Perfectly normal. People should be more understanding.
