Ovulating after Trigger Shot?

Has anyone ovulated late after getting a trigger shot? I'm approaching 48 hours, and my temp hasn't risen at all, I haven't had any O-Pains, and now I'm losing hope that I'm going to ovulate. Granted, my follicles were smaller than "average," but it was my first round of femara (7.5mg for 6 days), and when I went in for my CD12 U/S they were far larger than anything we'd seen with clomid, so she didn't want to miss a window of opportunity, so she triggered me. My follicles were 14.5 and 14.8.

So, anyone ovulate with smaller follicles after a trigger, or ovulate later after getting a trigger?

  • I know they say you aren't suppose to temp when on a medicated cycle but I do it too. I did notice my first medicated cycle my temp didn't rise when I thought it should it was later and the second time it rose before my trigger. My follicles were bigger than yours around 18mm. My best suggestion is ignore the temps they aren't reliable on meds. I do not follow my own suggestion either.

    Good luck!

I actually never even knew temping was inaccurate on a medicated cycle. My RE only ever said never to use OPKS during medicated cycles. That's good to know though, thank you!
  • While on meds I have continued to temp, even though many say it's unreliable.  In my experience, my (noticable) O pains suggested one day, temps suggested the next day as ovulation day.  I'm not sure what to make of it, but I figure we have good timing either way, so I try not to worry about it.

I think the general rule is to assume ovulation 36 hours after a trigger.

  • Well it looks like I may have O'd on CD15 (so 72 hours after the trigger). My temp has even been steadily rising since then as well so FX!
