What do you use for movie watching in car? *repost from preschool*

**re post from preschool**

We just traded in our van that  had a built in DVD system for an SUV that does not.
I want to have some sort of movie viewing ability for my 4 year old when we go on long trips and am wondering what others use for this if you don't have a built in system?

I was considering buying the dvd players that strap to the back of the front seats but a friend over the weekend told me they don't work well. Now I'm thinking of a tablet that I can download movies to (of course the majority of our movies are non digital so I'd have to purchase more digital copies). I have a Kindle that he uses in the house and am wondering if I get something similar to that. I can either give him my kindle and get me a newer one or go with a cheaper non kindle, non ipad type of tablet.

Do any of you have something other than a built in system that you use? what do you recommend?
Thanks!

  • We have a carrier for the DVD player that straps around the headrest and DS1 has a kindle so the next time we travel he can just hold that.
  • Loading the player...
  • cheap bulky portable dvd player.  i sit it on top of blankets next to her seat and she can see perfectly.  it's super handy when i need it but we only used it twice so i wasn't about to spend crazy money on it.

however long the night, dawn will break.
