@calikat80, what marathon is $260? The most I have paid is $120.
NYC. I saw it and I was like, "WTF are you serious!?" I have been entering the lottery for the last 4 years to get auto entry this year so I kinda had to follow through, but I am considering selling my bib because my hip is already bothering me.
Yeah Marine Corps was like $50!
you have to do it, that would be an amazing experience! Go see a sports therapist and get that hip figured out. I think NYC is what Pamela Anderson ran, if she can do it, you can so do it with a bum hip!
Ok. Just got done. Wow. I was in the wrong size for one. Then they had me walk and run and jog. I walk completely different than I run (I run on my toes). The lady who fitted me had practically the same story...gained a ton of weight with two kids...she has been running for 20 years!!
Here are the shoes - Newton's. They are hideous and I love them

I have seen so many specialists for it that after a year of trying everything (osteopath, physical therapist, manual therapist, acupuncture, sports massage, cortizone shots, orthopedic surgeon, podiatrist, novenas, etc.) followed by 8 months of not running to try and clear it up I kind of gave up on trying to solve it and just work to manage it. The problem is that after an hour of running my whole leg starts to go numb, and it's kind of like attempting to drag a tree branch with me. It blows. It went away completely when I was pregnant because my hips shifted, but now it's back here and there.
I am going to try like heck to train for it and do it, I'm just nervous that after more than 13 miles I won't even be able to hobble with the one dead leg. I've done 12 miles with the issue but nothing more than that.
yep she did it, she was Ellen just before and her longest run had been something like 12 miles. Ellen was like "uh you know it is 26 miles right?". She said she was going to walk some of it. Her boobs are smaller now though so I am sure that helped.
OK if she did it I can too. Her and Katie Holmes, who finished in like 5.5 hours or something crazy like that. And now that I said that I will take 6 hours!

I know really eh? 5.5 hours..... My little bro just ran a 2:45 marathon, he is too fast for me! He runs with me on his "off" days and makes it very clear to me that it's an off day. Thanks bro!
I also need to add for all of you obsessive yellow number people that have to check the new posts, that I am impressed we made a thread about socks into 3 pages. Some weeks our FFFC aren't even this exciting. Carry on.

A 2:45 marathon?! How is that even fair? I was hoping for a 2:20 half. Sheesh.

I know, he is crazy. I love when I do a half, and then wait a few minutes at the finish line and get to see the leaders cross of the full marathon!
... Not a runner, but had to see why a thread about socks had 70 replies!
You ladies make me want to run so bad, but any time I have ever tried, everything hurts - hips, ankles, back, boobs. I'm just a mess.
if you get a proper running bra then your boobs should be good, and the right shoes should help (not always) ankles and hips. It is defiantly something you have to build up too though. Have you tried treadmill running? Pavement can be really hard on your muscles and joints.

@wasnotwas Right!! If that was my eye candy, I might actually do a full.
Actually that's a lie. I still wouldn't do it. Ha.
Holy shit what a difference shoes make. I felt like I had a jet pack!!
Selena Gomez - A Year Without Rain is a great mellow song for when you are hitting your stride
