The important question while organizing clothes: Do I keep the things that still don't fit right, or do I get rid of them?

    Hmm

I have been holding onto mine in hopes that I will one day be that tiny again. May be a pipe dream, though. :/
I'm holding on too. My pants fit (with a belt since my ass disappeared) but shirts are just...weird. I'm going to wait until I'm done BFing and re-evaluate. A new wardrobe would be nice though...

  • The last pair of jeans that fit me somehow have a nice big hole in the back. So now I am stuck squeezing into these black skinny jeans that just fit odd till I go shopping tomorrow.

  • I need opinions, but I don't want to make my own thread. Ss is pitching a small fit and dh is giving in which I totally disagree with. Ss isn't happy that we're going out and he'll miss his show.

The plan is to go to two Markets and then take the kids home (their mom wants them home at a cetain time - no prob). Now we are pvr-ing the show and cutting our trip out short so ss can watch fucking pokemon. The kids watch an obsene amount of tv and play hours of video games when they're not here and plus I don't like my schedule being dictated by a 12 yr old and a tv show.

Sorry for the tl; dr. Do I need to unclench or am I a little justified in my irritation?

I'm sitting at the salon, waiting to get a manicure. I'm not even enjoying the time out because of G-D mother's guilt. Gah.

Enjoy your time alone! It won't be forever and a little tlc for yourself will make you feel great!

  • I'm under a sleeping baby right now. Have to leave for work in 1/2hr :(( I don't want to wake him up.

Also, does anyone know if this is customary? There is an altar with fruit, half smoked cigarettes and Girl Scout cookies?
If the salon owners are of Asian descent, then yes. It's a pretty normal thing to see at a business and/or home. Both of my grandparents had altars where they left incense, food, and drink daily both at their businesses and homes.

ETA: in most cases it is an altar to honor ancestors and to pray for their blessing. Other times there are also shrines to Buddha or a deity.

I thinks it's justified and that your schedule should not be dictated by a 12 year old, but it's hard when they aren't your kids. However, the kids should be respectful of you and your rules at your house. I don't know what you and your H have worked out as far as you disciplining the step kids, but it seems kind of shitty of him if he gave in after you said no. That definitely sends the wrong message; you and your H should be on the same page.

  • Thanks ladies. Step parenting is hard. Dh and I talk and we reach a "same page" ageeement and then he forgets what we talked about and his desire to be the "cool dad" overrides him being an effective dad and then I get disappointed and irritated.
  • LO had a poopsplosion today at the pedicure and thank god I had an extra outfit for him!
He has been backed up for a few days. So this was great!

When you gotta go potty, stop and go right away. Daniel Tiger=best potty training song. We still sing it all the time, and we are almost a year into PT.

  • I'm sick today and have been sleeping on and off all day. DH gets some serious points for watching the baby ALL day. I've only been awake to eat breakfast and feed Ev. I'm finally feeling a little better, thank god.

A girl I used to work with just posted an antivax thing on fb. All but 1 of the 10 responses so far are on her side. She is a nurse! Apparently the measles aren't that bad for kids and she doesn't get why everyone is making a big deal out of the various outbreaks.

This was in our Madison paper today. Bacon prices are up sharply (nitrates!!!) AND coffee prices are expected to go up soon. Noooooo!

Uh oh!! I just ate bacon.
Cancer is only for the people that can afford bacon.

    No cancer for poor people!

Unless it's lung cancer. From smoking. You know, cuz all those poors feed their kids Craft dinner so they can still buy butts.

We're having lasagna for dinner here. Owen's favorite thing to do on lasagna night is hollow out his garlic bread and put his lasagna in it. Lasagna bread bowl.

    Brilliant!
