Well my sister game me a bottle of Prosecco, so me might have that and make mimosas. But on the other hand my fav beer is White Out, and I got the last one of the season from whole foods sitting in the fridge...maybe we should have both! Last time in labor the midwife told me I could have a Benadryl or a glass of wine, I will be choosing the wine this time.
i'm not a big drinker. i detest all wine and beer, and i don't do shots. i'm sure i'll have a mudslide or something like that whenever go out on our first post-baby date.... at 7 months old. sob.
My request for DH was a small (like mini) bottle of champagne to celebrate right after DD is born! He picked one up today finally! It's nothing fancy at all but it's something to look forward to and I think it will be fun.
We packed, in our go bag, a nice bottle of wine I have been waiting to drink. We will drink it even if the boys are born at 7am... I am going to keep the cork and put it in a shadow box.
Ooo! Tenuta le Velette is one of our favorite vineyard in Italy, a local grocery store sells a white and red...I'm thinking an ice cold glass of their white is EXACTLY what I need when I get home with the babe (along with the cheesecake I plan on making while laboring at home.)
If you can cook a cheesecake while laboring, you seriously rock.
DH has been tasked with locating the nearest vendor of a cold 6-pack. Can't pack beer because the first one needs to be ice cold. He will be picking it up as soon as I OK him leaving my side. Or can I say our side since I am literally the size of two humans now?
Totally having champagne. When I asked my bf the other day to make sure that there's a bottle chilling while I labor so I can have some soon as baby is born his response was "can you atleast feed my child first?"
mmm...can't wait for that first drink! I like the idea of a mini-champagne bottle post delivery a lot. The lactation consultant we spoke to said that it's a good idea to wait the first month before really partaking, which is a bit lame, but something I will probably follow. Can't wait to have that really big glass of ice cold white wine, though!

I've thought about it for a month now. I don't care how it sounds, I can't wait to drink. With DD I waited until my first date with DH, which was maybe a month after delivery. Not so much this time. I'm thinking almost immediately when I get home, but I can not decide what. Cold, cold beer, red wine, a margarita...so many choices....
SO and I went and bought a bottle of wine from a local winery that I like and it is in the fridge now. I won't bring it to the hospital, but I imagine as soon as I have the "holding the baby" thing down, you can bet your ass I'm going to start having a glass during feedings
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
When I first suspected I was pregnant (not planned) I stopped and bought a pregnancy test and a bottle of my favorite red wine. I figure it was going one way or the other. 9 months later...I can finally have the wine!!
We're naming our son hunter and i found a sav blanc that's called hunter's so we recently bought a case. I'll be bringing 1 of those to the hospital for sure!
We brought booze to the hospital last time and I just honestly never felt like drinking it. I had a nice big glass of red the night we got home though -- the same will likely happen this time!
I want all the drinks, of ever. I'm not even a drinker usually but since I can't have them, I want them bad. Inmost just look forward to either a nice cold beer (Sam Adams makes a seasonal called porch rocker which is amazing) or a glass of cold white wine on the back porch during a warm afternoon while grilling dinner. Not sure how long after I will wait, but probably not long for sure.
@nursewinnie - I have some Porch Rocker in our pantry, and DH gets snapped at if he even thinks about touching it. It's waiting just for me.
We also have a few bottles of wine from a trip to Napa that we didn't get to before becoming pregnant, and I can't wait for those (they are currently hiding in my bedroom bc I will have a meltdown in the in laws open one without asking).
I thought I would be really amped about my first drink (was planning for prosecco in the hospital), but after living with gestational diabetes I'm really most interested in excessive carbs & sugar post-birth. My list is like a mile long!

Not sure when though!
I'm not sure when, but I kinda like the champagne in the hospital idea. I wonder if ours will allow that....
I want one ASAP but probably won't until I feel less paranoid about bf and having a drink.
