JJ cole insert w/B-safe

Hi

Just wondering if I would need this insert (https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/JJ-Cole-reg-Head-Support/123071?Keyword=jj+cole) with the B-safe car seat for a newborn. I tried to put it in while in the store to check it out & it didn't seem to fit well, but I also don't want her little head moving all over the place.

Wanted to know if it is even necessary or if anyone has used this combination (or something similar with the B-safe).

Thanks!

Re: JJ cole insert w/B-safe

  • I have been told if it doesn't come with the car seat nothing should be added such as a head support or even the winter covers that go under the child...i know that the Chicco that i am getting has a head and bottom support for infants and then when they get to a certain size then you take it out.

  • None of the after market positioners are safe. You can roll up receiving blankets and use them to help prop your LO if needed. Receiving blankets are safe because they do not come between baby and the seat or alter the way the straps fit.

  • Ok because britax makes one too...it's just a full body one instead of just head support. If they're not safe, then why would the manufacturer make one???

  • They make them because people will buy them and some people don't believe they're not safe. The manual for your car seat will say not to use after market products. I believe if you can find one made by the manufacturer of your seat it's probably ok.

  • Agree with others - unless it came with your seat, don't use it in the seat. Rolling up receiving blankets to put around the head is generally considered safe.

Because there is no law that says they can't and they are in the business of making money.
