faucet cover alternative?

So, DS is taking "big boy" baths now in the regular bathtub. Naturally, he is obsessed with the faucet (pulls up to stand on it, wants to bite it, plays under it to look at the shiny drain, etc.).  Basically, DH and I are spending the whole bath with our hands over the faucet so he won't crack his head open.

I know they make the regular faucet/spout covers, but our stupid bathtub has the deal where you pull down the ring beneath the faucet to turn on the shower instead of pulling up on the little lever. (super annoying for many reasons. If I had known, I would have picked a different #$^%% faucet!)

All of the covers I've seen accommodate the pull-up shower control. Are there any that also accommodate the pull-down ring?

Re: faucet cover alternative?

  • We've got the Munchkin (I think) fire duck cover. It's really not that big of a deal to take it on and off the faucet every time we need it or don't need it, so maybe look at something like that?
    I like privacy. A lot.

  • I have a cheap inflatable one I found at BRU.  It has frogs on it and I think it was $2.  It does the job...G has never figured out how to take it off yet it's so easy to slide on and off for you to shower.
  • we had an weird faucet setup in my old apartment w/DD. I rigged a half- inflated dollar store beach ball over the faucet. it took a while to figure out how to make it stay on, but it worked the same as the inflatables that fit the standard faucets.
