    I went to Space Camp.

Let me know if you guys need to know how to pilot space ships.
13 year old me is seething with jealousy right now.  I always wanted to go but my mom always said my sisters needed food and school clothes and stuff.  Stupid siblings.

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK.  Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.

  • @hilarityensued I was on Team Orion. What were your positions at mission control and on the shuttle? I was mission commander (duh) and co-pilot :)

The main thing I remember about Space Camp (experience, not movie, sorry CG) is the military bunk sleeping situation. I had top bunk and I'm pretty sure there was a sprinkler above my head...not sure that's safe...

  • I see we've moved on, but I'm on the "bandwagon".

  • @cinemagoddess, I was OBSESSED with that movie when I was younger.  I wanted to be Tish.  My brother and I used to play Space camp all the time.

  • @wasnotwas I don't remember my position.  I'm fairly certain I caused a good deal of trouble because I had a problem listening to authority/directions (:::shocks everyone:::) so they probably stuck my ass in the least important position ever.

I feel like I was Team UTC but I can't remember.  My vivid memory from Space Camp is the Space Shot.  Riding that shit hundreds of times without getting off.

I actually liked Aviation Challenge more.  We got to zip line down into a lake and pull a rip cord.  And fly flight simulators all the time.
I know we went to different state ones but I really liked the thing that spun you around and you had to throw and catch a big red dodgeball...well you were supposed to catch it, at least. Did yours have that?

  • I'm really disappointed none of you have heard of the movie Space Camp.

I loved that movie and have seen it more times than I can count.  The premise was terrifying to me. I just kept imagining how scared I would be.

It's been a pleasure. But i have to go get a stress test for all of the chest pains I've been having the last month. Wish me luck...oh, wait, you wouldn't. Talk freely amongst yourselves about what a horrible person I am. It's cool.
Maybe you should kick your husband out of the house.

That could be a cause of stress in your life.
WTF?! Did you need to go there, I mean really.
Did she really need to play martyr and whine about something having nothing to do with the conversation and drop yet another "woe is me" card?

If she didn't want people to talk about it, she should have kept it to herself or at least to a smaller group. She has control of the stressors in her life, and her abusive husband is absolutely one thing she could easily solve be she refuses to. And now supposedly it is affecting her health. But by her logic she's not having a heart attack yet, so there's no reason for her to go in until she does.

Hmmm..that's exactly what I said when this board got mad about me bringing up Mabel's "situation".
  • Mabel didn't blame us for her stress.

  • And Mabel didn't mention on the board the things you brought up here. Hmmmm

Interesting how you pop in and out at just the right time.

  • I won't justify my remark.

    I made it.

    I own it.

    I'm not even sorry.

  • So what was the reason for posting that on page 8 when nobody would see it because we weren't even talking about that and the person who caused this bruhaha isn't even here anymore?

  • @wasnotwas are you talking about the thing that spins all around but keeps your stomach in the same place?

    That thing.

I also loved the centrifuge but I wasn't bad ass enough to go upside down like the teenagers.

I couldn't find the exact picture of what I was looking for, but I did find this!! Ahh...memories (that is not me in the pic)

  • I don't have much to add except that 1. DS was evaluated not to long ago (for speech, since he has like 6 words at 22 months, but they evaluated for everything) and they said he had so much fun playing with the blocks, looking at the animal flash cards, etc. He thought it was a game. And 2. I'm so fucking glad that our DC doesn't kick the kid out after 3 bites. DS bite 3 days in a row the other week (after many other times before), so they suggested I start bringing in a teething ring and reading "Teeth Are Not For Biting" every night. It's helped a ton.
