Social groups - a new outlet for the butthurt

I was curious to see how the Social Group experiment was working out so I had a look at some this morning. Stumbled across this one:

https://forums.thebump.com/group/183-no-drama-mamas

and thought

Sure enough, this one doesn't realize she's on the wrong website for her expectations. Got flamed for her contributions here on her first day and got butthurt really quick:
https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12290190/stretch-marks

and again in her own thread:
https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12290307/help-am-i-further-along-than-i-think

Who's surprised that her group has no other members?

  • Yeah, that one on 3rd tri is really irritating. It happens every time she asks a question.

  • It's very hard to have an intellectual with discussion with someone whose only reasoning is "well, you're an asshole" if you don't agree with them. It sort of undermines their whole argument really.

    LOL! She's a special snowflake!

9 times out of 10, the person who is getting offended by stuff is the only one getting offended and it's normally because they're an idiot.

Yes, there are times when the boards can be bitchy. It always confuses me when people get really snarky and bitchy over the UO thread. The opinions are supposed to be unpopular. Otherwise it would just be the "everyone agrees with each other" thread. Then again, if you say something downright awful then you deserve to be flamed. Most of the time the flaming is hilarious. You just have to come in with a sense of humour and not be super serious about everything you're saying.

"Not washing my baby" woman annoyed me the most recently. Telling us we need to have an "intellectual" conversation, then calling us assholes because we didn't jump up her backside. Welcome to the internet - you can't dictate how these things turn out.

She called me an asshole. All I said was "team wash the baby". I just laughed at her.
I was just lurking on that thread and I was totally shocked when she did that...then had the audacity to demand that everyone else behave in an "intellectual" fashion. She is one special snowflake.

I had to reply... she was throwing the world bullying around... :-?

I love these silly drama posts - it's like watching The Real Housewives lol.

Edit: I'm 8 months pregnant - these things happen.

I think my link is wrong or something's changed since this morning. I had posted to say the same thing but when I went to the social groups page, I could still see it there and click on it.

ETA: I fixed the link in my OP. The number part changed.

  • Fair enough not washing for the first day or so, but up to 2 weeks?! That's gonna be one stank baby! I'd be worried about infection in the cord stump etc. People can do what they want, but I will be having a clean baby, thanks. Sorry if that makes me a "smartass".

No one was disputing that part. A lot of people made a good case for why it's good to leave the baby unwashed for the first little bit. People just took issue with the fact that the OP thought she could go two weeks without bathing the baby. That, and the OP's tendency to call anyone who didn't immediately agree with her or post a dissertation on the subject an asshole.
