Random - herbal teas. Whats the consensus? I just bought a "Traditional Medicinals" brand tea to ease tension and stress and one of the ingredients is "possibly unsafe." What is your take? I know they are branded as unsafe because herbs and teas are not FDA regulated, but is this just the "system" trying to cover it's butt?
Ingredients: passionflower herb (the possibly unsafe one), 180 mg; chamomile flower, 180 mg; english lavender flower, 135 mg; catnip herb, 105 mg; rosemary leaf, 90 mg; blend of peppermint, spearmint, licorice and stevia, 810 mg.
I'd really like some darn tension and stress relief over here!!!
The most shocking part of not being pregnant is when you pack up to leave the hospital and they make you take the baby home with you. It was a wtf moment for me. Like, she's cute and all, but I actually have to parent this little person 24/7 from now until a long time? Woah.
SHIT JUST GOT REAL.
Baby, I was kidding. You can stay in there forever.
Ive been reading March/April boards for kicks..... it scares me a lotta bit how, erm, miserable some of them are.

SAME! I just bought some Yogi "tension relief" tea, drank a few cups, then saw that it said, "Pregnant women should consult with doctor." I'm sure it's fine, but now I'm also freaked out.
I am so excited Frozen comes out today! I haven't seen it yet but have been wanting to, so I preordered it from Amazon and it will get delivered today. As soon as I can leave after my rehearsal I'm going home to watch it!

Arrgghhhhh. I'm sure it's fine, but this will definitely be sitting in the back of my mind now. I mean, it's not heroin, so it can't be THAT bad?!
In regards to herbal teas everything I've read says stay leery of them and avoid all chamomile. So I stay away from those, but I have drank Tazo's Zen and ginger teas.

WHAT?!? WHYYYY?? I've drank so much chamomile. Double-bagging is as close as I can get to wine.
Also, I think maybe I've figured out bellies: it seems like women who have athletic, slim, or average builds tend to get the perfect basketball bellies. Women with hourglass or pear builds have a broader base and seem to get the wider bellies.
Note: this is not scientific. I just stared at a bunch of pregnant ladies at the doctor's office yesterday and noticed how some had the very movie-ish little perfectly round bump that I wanted, while others had a wider, more gradual bump like myself. It seemed like the narrowness of the hips played a large role in shaping the bump.
Eh, I still drink my herbal teas. Keep an eye on things and if they make you feel funny, stop drinking. Basically, for it to any damage, most herbs would need to be in medicinal quantities. Tea is not a medicinal quantity unless you let it steep for hours on end. I tried Red Raspberry leaf tea last time, which they recommend to tone your uterus, and it gave me contractions every time I took it, even if I brewed it weak. I stopped drinking it. I do drink Throat Coat for my heartburn, and it says to be leary of the licourice, and I've never ever had a problem with it. Just keep an eye on how you feel and you'll be fine!

This is what I've found. I'm not a huge fan of Chamomile, so it's not a big deal to me, but take it for what you want:

I've heard that it's only certain kinds of chamomile that are bad? I actually put in a call to my dr and my Bradley teacher today to ask - we'll get the super medicinal response and the super hippie response, and can split the difference
Lilygrace48 - thats sort of my philosophy as well!
I remember putting DD in her bassinet for the first time and H and I just stood there and stared at her like "umm that is a real live human baby, in our house, and she is ours....what now?"
.......................................... . .
that was EXACTLY what happened with us when we brought O home. Except we immediately put him in the swing bc we thought that would be the sweetest, and he let us know real quick he was NOT into that. So THEN we put him in the bassinet and just stared at him, then each other, then back at him, and said, "OK..... so..... now what?"
We still ask each other that and he's a year old
"Who put us in charge of this?!"
