Re: ** BF & Pre-BF Check In**
1. How old are your LOs: 4 weeks
2. Short term/ Long term goals:
3 months/1 year
3. Accomplishments / Struggles:
DS' latch was starting to bother me more so I took a closer look at his mouth. I think he may have a partial tongue-tie, which could also be part of the reason he's gaining so much slower than his sister. We meet with a LC tomorrow. Otherwise still struggling to get a stash going. They want to eat all the time, and if I do get some pumped DH ends up using it if I leave the house for more than 20 min.
4. EBF, EPing, Supplementing?: EBF
5. Any questions this week?:
Not yet!
GTKY: Whats your best mommy tip that made life easier?
@TheDairyQueenx3 I love that idea! I will be stealing that one ASAP
When DS1 was a baby we gave him his tri-vi-sol drops straight from the dropper during his bath. He wouldn't drink it in his milk and that was the least messy way to do it.
2. Short term: 1yr / Long term: self-wean
3. Accomplishments: Save for their first 10 days in the NICU while my supply was ramping up, they haven't had any formula. And I've been back to work since they were 3.5 months. Struggles: life w 3u4 with 2 FT working parents is just plain exhausting.
4. EBF.
5. No questions, really. I'm in no way ready to be done BFing, but I am looking forward to wind-down process where I don't have to pump 3x at work and get up 2x a night to nurse.
6. GTKY Mommy tip: keep a spare diaper bag with the essentials in the car. It has saved me more times than I care to mention!
Thank you!

5 months
2. Short term/ Long term goals:
6 months/1 year
3. Accomplishments / Struggles:
Accomplishments - H doesn't need the nipple shield anymore!! This is huge. After 4 1/2 months, he can finally latch on. We've gone a week and a half without it now. He's been having weight gain issues but last week he gained 8 oz.
Struggles - Apparently I was able to pump so much because H wasn't very good at getting the milk with the nipple shield. I've had 2 weeks now were I've gone into my freezer stash. I need to increase my supple just a little so I don't have to deplete my entire stash.
4. EBF, EPing, Supplementing?:
H - EBF
E - EP
5. Any questions this week?:
Now that H is off the nipple shield, I'm thinking about trying to breastfeed E again. She's done it a few times, some successful and other times not so much. Has anyone had an EP'er successfully breastfeed?
GTKY: Whats your best mommy tip that made life easier? Everyday is a struggle. I don't think anyone wants advice from me!
