I almost bought one with DD1 until I heard the squeak. Reminded me of a terribly annoying dog toy. I'm sure baby would love it, but my ears would not.

Someone already got one off our registry for us and I was super excited about that. I also have Chan on there too and if no one gets that one for me I will be buying it after the shower. Chan looks like a mushroom with a nipple on top. My friends kid loves him as well as Sophie.

I had no idea about the Sophie until I read about it here so I didn't buy or register for it BUT, my awesome cousin asked around found out it was a must have and bought us one one for my shower yesterday anyway :-), super excited after reading about it so much on here

my kid had both the mini and original Sophie and she never touched the mini but looooved the original. I'd say go for the big one.

I got a Sophie for my shower today and was so excited! I also received the Kiki (the Target elephant). Not sure if I should keep both. Thinking I might considering my dog likes squeaky toys....

Lol! I held it in my hands for the first time at destination maternity and my husband goes "it's just like a dog toy!" And I explained to him how oddly famous it was and that we needed to get one for dd. He then says "yeah but we don't need it right now, do we?" . I don't think he gets the whole pregnancy thing yet because yes damnit we need it right now!

No, you do need it right now. And you need the little card in the box so you can record all baby's info in French. So fancy!
