@Jdubb13‌ - they check your urine to run a urinalysis and to check for your protein levels. It isnt a culture so it doesn't have to be sterile. Yes, you should limit how much of your skin touches the cup/pee but there is no way that you can completely avoid that. For instance for the ladies who didn't know about your tip, their urine had to pass thru their inner labia before it went into the cup so technically skin particles are still in the urine/cup.

At the hospital when we perform a urinalysis for the babies and we don't need to catheterize them we put a bag around their labia or penis/testicles) to catch their pee so it doesn't soak into the diaper. Typically these results are not contaminated when the pee touches their skin. Also none of my tests at the OB were flagged. I'm just saying this based on my experience. I don't want to give advice if it's wrong though so if your method works, keep at it girl

Two confessions:

1. My mom is over visiting while my husband is gone on a business trip. She came with the intent of helping out and watching the baby while I get some major spring cleaning and organizing done.
She's already vacuumed my entire apartment. I feel a little bad, but it's not my fault she grabbed the vacuum before I did!

2. I really only listen to two channels on SiriusXM (remember when those were two separate things?): 40's on 4 and On Broadway. I am secretly 80 years old.

Confession: while I don't care for the terminology I have no issues touching my lady business, for business or pleasure. I don't have issues peeing in a cup but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to get my hands dirty, so to speak, to get the job done. I'm comfy with my body and it doesn't gross me out or make me uncomfortable in the least!

Actually I'm proud of that so it isn't even a confession. Just keep your M words to yourself!

I really hope what happened to me was a gag and that I am entertaining TSA agents everywhere, however I was flying out of west palm beach fla...I think they are only used to old folks in wheel chairs...

Oh my god. My house is covered in cat hair. I don't know what the hell is going on with these cats. we vaccuum all the time and you could still knit a sweater with what you pull off my couch. If these cats don't knock it off someone is getting shaved.

Honestly I think second pregnancies are just less exciting. Yes, I love my daughter. But my reaction was not over the moon like it was for the first. I knew what I was in for this time!

I'm very happy to be pregnant again,but it feels very different than last time -- to be honest, I prefer it this way. I feel less freaked out, less anxious, less OCD but "having all the stuff" and "doing everything right" and like other people are also less worked up about it -- while still being happy for us / excited.

I will be happy whether it is a boy or a girl, but I know DH would much prefer another boy, and we have all the clothes, which makes everything easier. I actually feel pretty nervous about my mothering abilities to a girl. I've always been one of the guys. But we'll be happy and figure it out no matter what.
