Angelcare monitor

I am thinking about picking up the anglecare monitor (monitor placed under crib mattress that detects movement and breathing) and was wondering if any of you have and/ or any thoughts on it. I have seen lots of good reviews online as well as a recall a few years ago. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Angelcare monitor

  • I love it, I can sleep better. Although we've had a few false alarms and my husband and/or I always jump out of bed, heart racing. But you can set the settings so it's less sensitive.

  • Love it! Used it with DS1 and am using it again.
  • We have it ( just bought off CL) and I like it but I'm actually about to sell it on CL and get the snuza. DD refuses to sleep in her bassinet/crib right now (only sleeps in the RNP) so it's not getting used. The snuza clips on their diaper so it can be used anywhere. Just something else to consider.

  • Love it. We got a couple false alarms with DS (or maybe they weren't and the alarm jolted him back in to breathing).

Also a pre snuza purchase maker. The crib has some sort of baby repellent right now lol

levona makes a version also and is a little cheaper. I keep going back and forth on the two because i see more reviews for snuza hero/halo

  • Question for Snuza users, so in the middle of the night- do you just change the diaper and re-clip it to the new diaper? How difficult is this process? Just curious. Obviously it's worth it however difficult it is, I'm just wondering if the Angelcare is less to fiddle around with in the dark at 3am?

  • We tried the breathing and movement piece and hated it. The alarm went off all the time as LO not breathing when she was. The audio monitor works really well.

Not hard at all, IMO. I think you can also clip it to the sleeper, if you're using one with snaps. That would mean no repositioning in the motn.

We bought a Snuza and the clip was cracked. They were great about replacing it.

Actually, this is something about the angel care that kind of annoys me- you have to put it on hold when you change diapers/feed at night. I kept setting off the alarm forgetting this.

  • I actually just bought one because DS was throwing up in bed some nights and it really worried me. I'm sleeping so much better now.
